Twist-ties

Actually, Hasbro's been using twist ties on boxed toys since 1992 at the latest. --FortMax 23:32, 22 March 2009 (EDT)

I can actually pretty much guarantee to you that the twist ties are not "coincidentally" good at preventing people from ripping the packaging open and taking the pieces, working in packaging myself, we use this type of method to prevent bits from going missing. --MadmanFoidart 10:36, 18 November 2010 (EST)

Hi. I just added a bit about the new paper twist ties to the Transformers (2010) section. This is my first edit on TFWiki. I love this site and it took me over a month to get up the will to make that change. I have no basis for the twist ties being a cost benefit over the previous version, but I doubt they would use something more expensive than the old twist ties. If I had to change that blurb, I'd probably do a list of advantages instead of a paragraph. Also, I have examples of both in order to take photos. Did I do this all right so far? Welcome to the wiki! We shouldn't make assumptions without sources, even if it sounds like common sense. It is possible they might have changed to paper ties even if it cost more for the environmental reasons. - Starfield 19:10, 7 April 2011 (EDT)

Gallery

So, this page is quickly going to get flooded with images if we want to keep up with the "One boxed, one carded" rule. I move that we create a gallery page to actually showcase all the different types of packaging variants from different franchises. One toy per line should be good enough and we can move any other necessary examples to the gallery page. Separate page for spinoffs?

Should we have a separate page for some of the easier-grouped items? Perhaps the Japanese packaging for the Japan-only lines and their variants from American ones? Or maybe lumping the spinoffs like Beastformers, Animorphs, Crossovers/Star Wars and the like off into their own?
