Pete's Robot Convention Items
[edit]Should we mention every one of it's items on their respective character pages's (included toy pages) note sections? FigureGunplaFan (talk) 13:38, 24 June 2017 (EDT)
unsavory aspects
[edit]should we add something about the type of person he is?--Kitsune1 (talk) 23:29, 22 July 2020 (EDT)
- I mean, the mainpic caption is right there. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 00:33, 23 July 2020 (EDT)
- That doesn't add any info beyond "he's a douche," and considering everything I think some elaboration would be useful. Voxel 23:20, 14 August 2020 (EDT)
- Considering the sheer number of fans gone official, and how so many of them have long and public internet histories, this wiki has erred on the side of not dwelling on their Internet fights, except if they have actually defrauded customers / staff. His unsavory aspects are off-topic. --Thylacine 2000 (talk) 23:28, 14 August 2020 (EDT)
- Didn't he actually scam people with badly painted toys he claimed to be legit? That seems like "defrauding customers" to me. Voxel (talk) 13:24, 13 September 2020 (EDT)
- IMO there should be [i]some[/i] sort of overview of whatever he did, in order to make the references to him on other pages, as well as the mainpic caption, make sense. Despite Cyberlink420's attempt to use it as a dismissal, the mainpic caption does not, in fact, actually say anything substantive; it only raises questions that the page currently does not answer. The job of a wiki is to inform, not make people even more confused. If you can't actually be bothered to explain, you shouldn't make the references in the first place. [edit]contraversy section looking on here, im not the first person calling for one. can we restore my edits? heres the segment
{Pete Sinclair is widely disliked in the modern transformers fandom for his reactionary tendencies, often tweeting or liking conservative posts on any account he has access too. This includes the former, officially Hasbro affiliated, BotCon's twitter account, where he liked several highly inflammatory posts. Pete Sinclair would later go on to harass members of the transformers fandom who opposed the New BotCon's affiliation with him. In May 2021, Pete would encourage people to "go live their life", ignoring COVID 19 lockdown provisions as "The strains are NEVER going away, Just like the flu. You will have to get shots for the rest of your life and even then it's far from a guarantee"} —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Pr0t0! (talk • contribs){{#if:| {{{2}}}|}}.
- Not unless it becomes relevant to licensed product. AT MOST, the Botcon Twitter - and even then, less is more. --Thylacine 2000 (talk) 07:55, 11 May 2021 (EDT)
- His exact politics isn't relevant to product or BotCon, but the harassment of fans does seem relevant. It's something directed at Transformers fans by a figure involved in product/cons and it's impacting on how people view the new BotCon (and how younger ones view the old BotCon). --Charles RB (talk) 06:25, 16 May 2021 (GMT)

Night Shining was a licensee for unofficial BotCon
[edit]Through some people I know who are involved in the current unofficial BotCon, apparently Night Shining was only a licensee selling BotCon product, with that unofficial BotCon history book being one of the most notable products under their license. Other than that, I'm not sure Night Shining played that big of a role, and even if it did, it wasn't for very long. Agabyss are the current owners and organizers of BotCon. I think a small tweak to that section in the intro may need to be made to make that a little clearer. -- Fanofcoolstuff27 (talk) 03:36, 28 November 2023 (EST)
- Plus, Night Shining is officially closing up shop at the end of this year, and are clearing out all of their merchandise (and have been trying to for a long time now), so they won't be a licensee to anyone, or even exist as a company, anymore. --Sabrblade (talk) 13:53, 28 November 2023 (EST)
- That too, yeah. -- Fanofcoolstuff27 (talk) 14:52, 28 November 2023 (EST)
Page Locked?
[edit]I was going to update his credits but can't. Is the page locked? Could I get a brief unlock if so? Or maybe I'm just a dope and have forgotten how to do this. --Jimsorenson (talk) 09:46, 28 March 2025 (EDT)
- It was locked as a preventative measure back in 2021. I think enough time has passed now that it's safe to unlock it again. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 10:33, 28 March 2025 (EDT)
- Well, I've done what I needed to do so if you want to re-lock it I have no objections. Or leave it live, I'm good either way. --Jimsorenson (talk) 12:11, 28 March 2025 (EDT)
