Talk:Peter Cullen

Canadian actor? Okay, from what I read Cullen was born in Montreal and started his career there. But doesn't he live in the US and most of his work was done while in the US? I think we should refer to him as an American actor, or else we're going to have vaguely ridiculous things like having to refer to Scott McNeil as an Australian actor just because he was born there. --FFN 02:18, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

Man, I hope he completes that autobiography he's occasionally mentioned working on in interviews. The 1956 birth year makes no sense, and the timeline of him and his brother becoming Americans is really sketchy. -Rotty 18:55, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

According to IMDB, Cullen was born in 1944, not 1956. He also graduated from the National Theatre School of Canada in 1963, which would've made him only 7 years old according to his 1956 birthdate... Not saying the IMDB date is true, but the 1956 one isn't either... --Detour 14:52, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit]

Where did the photo of Cullen holding the Optimus Prime Voice Changer Helmet originate? Here? Is there any way we can use that image for the article?--Nevermore 10:38, 13 September 2009 (EDT)

From a USA Today article around the first film's release. Alientraveller 11:50, 13 September 2009 (EDT)

Birthday.

[edit]

It says December 1 on Wikipedia. Now I'm confused. O.o;; CH 19:26, 8 February 2010 (EST)

And their source for that is an AnimeNewsNetwork page that claims his birth year is 1944, so I'm not putting much weight behind it. --Detour 19:55, 8 February 2010 (EST)
What is the source for our date? His official Facebook page says December 1, 1944... --abates 20:11, 8 February 2010 (EST)
That doesn't look very official... Looks more like a page made by a (some) fan(s). --Detour 20:16, 8 February 2010 (EST)
Hmm, yes, the description in Google says it's official, but I think that's just the boilerplate Facebook page description. Whoops! --abates 20:22, 8 February 2010 (EST)
TV.com and IMDB.com both use the same birthdate we do, for what it's worth. --Detour 20:34, 8 February 2010 (EST)

Predator?

[edit]

Peter Cullen voiced the Predator in 'Predator'? I can't seem to find any sources corroborating that. 68.231.122.245 01:11, 2 March 2010 (EST)

He initially revealed this at his very first BotCon panel, back in 1997. However, I'm not sure if any recorded interviews include that tidbit. As I recall, to help him decide on the Predator's sounds, the producers gave him a photo of the Predator's face (a.k.a. the big spoiler of the original film), and its structure reminded him of the face of a horseshoe crab. Years back, when he'd find the crabs on the shore, he'd lift them up sometimes and see them blowing bubbles out of their mouths, which is what inspired him to use that bubbling, clicking noise the Predator makes.--Apcog 01:29, 2 March 2010 (EST)

Watch this documentary. On this vid at 6 minutes 30 seconds, it list Peter Cullen as the narrator. Should we put his somewhere in there?DinoFreakUSA 20:56, 3 November 2010 (EDT)

We don't need to list ALL the man's credits. Just a few notable ones. This doesn't seem too notable. --Detour 20:45, 3 November 2010 (EDT)

It is if your both a dinosaur and a Transformer fan but I understand.DinoFreakUSA 20:56, 3 November 2010 (EDT)
