Talk:Planet X (Cybertron)

Is this lifted straight from the Cybertron packaging? If so, I thought we were trying to avoid such direct quotes.--G.B. Blackrock 21:50, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

No, it's not. Same gist, though. --ItsWalky 22:25, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
Consider it a "very strong paraphrase", seeing as how the Cybertron packaging is a pretty damn good summation of what Planet X is about. -hx 22:34, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

If there's no place as Planet X, then what's that planet with 2 rings that form an X?

If Starscream wasn't really destroyed by Unicron and was instead killed by Galvatron for betraying him, then why'd we see it happen in that flashback in "Possession"? Also, I think it's a tiny bit premature to start nitpicking before we even see how the dub treats it. --ItsWalky 23:04, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

The Planet with 2 rings to form an X is just the symbol/insignia for Planet X and it's "Peoples".

Kind of like how Soundwave's purple head is the symbol for the Decepticons.--Octopus Prime- King of the Road! 13:49, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

"Planet X went nova." The word "nova" refers to something stars do. Is this our mistake or HasTak's? --Andrusi 19:52, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

I think "nova" is being used as a figure of speech. It just blew up in a REALLY BIG explosion. --DangerDrVenture(Bodycount)

what happened to planet x?! you see it on the show in an awesome flashback thing! Why did the admins let this guy put in the picture of nothing?! ShinkisRule 21:47, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

Merge

[edit]

No. —Interrobang 20:31, 17 July 2010 (EDT)

Yeah, this is... just something that... doesn't really make any sense. A separate article for a "Planet X (Animated)" that notes it combines elements of three separate planets sharing its name might be a better way to go. - Chris McFeely 20:37, 17 July 2010 (EDT)
I also disagree with the merge. The Nova/Alpha/Sentinel stuff was specifically G1-targeted retconning. This isn't the same. --ItsWalky 20:41, 17 July 2010 (EDT)

"Parallel reality" = universal stream?

[edit]

I'm adjusting the page for Aurex 802.23 Alpha (aka the Unicron Trilogy cartoon reality) for interdimensional contacts. Which leads me to wonder, does Planet X come from an entirely parallel universe/dimension/reality that the TransTechs classify as a universal stream, or is Planet X's home plane of existence just some kind pocket dimension like the fire dimension, which each universal stream has its own of? I'm leaning towards the former, but I don't recall the Cybertron cartoon ever mentioning the concept of the multiverse. S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent 47 (talk) 16:40, 25 April 2015 (EDT)

Calling it either one would be pure speculation, there's just not enough information. --KilMichaelMcC (talk) 17:02, 25 April 2015 (EDT)
I guess so. S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent 47 (talk) 21:29, 25 April 2015 (EDT)

Merge with other Planet X articles?

[edit]

Ask Vector Prime stated that Energy Planet X and metal-eating insect home Planet X are alternate incarnations of Cybertron cartoon Planet X, and there is also a 2001 RiD Planet X tied to Unicron but not also the Cybertronian Empire. And Animated Planet X combines elements of the two Victory Planet Xs. Should we merge them all together? S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent 47 (talk) 18:12, 16 August 2015 (EDT)

They do all kinda seem like basically the same thing. Different from universe to universe, but no more so than, say, the Nebulons.--Giggidy (talk) 18:32, 16 August 2015 (EDT)

Planet X writeup

[edit]

Regarding the true identity of Planet X: After the dark god Unicron's spark was absorbed by Master Megatron, the regenerative function of the remnant body went awry in another universe/space. The resident Transformers originated from planet Cybertron, but did not migrate to other planets like other Transformers. Previously beings absorbed by Unicron and becoming a part of him, they were restored to existence to supplement the planet's activities. Eventually, they recorded Unicron's memories, contained in a memory bank, onto a medium created using their technology. Soundwave was an administrator.

Despite the destruction of Planet X, Soundwave continued to decipher the records, discovering Unicron's opponent, Primus, and his Planet Force, and their relationship with Gigalonia, who vanquished them. He plans to steal the Planet Force, restore Planet X to completion, and take revenge on Gigalonia. Through those records, Soundwave saw a history of constant war and strife in the universe, and his plans to reproduce and expand that same misfortune were part of it. But would they have changed their destiny if they had noticed those who valued life and its strength in those same histories?
