How do I write this?
[edit]I've been wanting to write an article for Powered Masters for a while, but can't figure out how to describe them in a sense of the fiction. I mean, the toy gimmick was that they were battery-powered and could move forward and backward on treads, right? So how do I write that from a fiction standpoint? "Powered Masters are Transformers who can move on their own power without help from giant omniscient hands from the sky"? --DrSpengler 16:56, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
- I would have a real-world paragraph and a in-fiction paragraph. If they had no traits in common in the fiction, you can say as much. JW 17:01, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, I don't think you have to try and write in-universe if there's no in-universe explanation. See the opening section of Throttlebot, for example. --KilMichaelMcC 17:13, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
- Done and done. --DrSpengler 17:55, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
- Are "Powered Masters" a description of a toy series or a description of a gimmick? Of the three figures mentioned in this article, only Dai Atlas has the motorized treads. Note that Star Convoy has a near-identical feature and was released like a year later, and I've read anecdotally on various sites of him being referred to as a "Powered Master" also. --Thylacine 2000 18:36, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
- Well, the translated bios over at Prime Saber's refer to Sonic Bomber and Road Fire as Powered Masters in addition to Dai Atlas. I looked over all my catalogue scans and story pages of Battlestars but couldn't find any official source referencing Star Convoy as a Powered Master, though. I think that even though some toys may share the motorized gimmick, only the three count as Powered Masters since that's their subgroup. --DrSpengler 18:45, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
Gimmicks
[edit]Not quite accurate - it's actually friction-drive stuff Sonic Bomber (at least) has, with his jet nose splitting to form his arms automatically. Not sure about Roadfire, although Siph should know, since I think he has him. -LV 23:53, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
