Trivia

[edit]

Added a bit of trivia (as an ocean liner buff, I couldn't help but add it) 68.147.45.66 14:30, 5 August 2011 (EDT)

I appreciate the information, but I really don't see the hard resemblance to this. —Interrobang 14:38, 5 August 2011 (EDT)
Actually, after World War II, the Nieuw Amsterdam was repainted with a grey hull. See for yourself. 68.147.45.66 15:02, 5 August 2011 (EDT)
But on the other hand, the animators may have added a few features to make her look more generic. 68.147.45.66 15:04, 5 August 2011 (EDT)
I wasn't just talking about the colors (although one being gray and the other being a blue color—and later purple—isn't a compelling argument). The architecture of the ships are different—Queen World looks more distinctly modern than the Nieuw Amsterdam. —Interrobang 15:39, 5 August 2011 (EDT)
I agree. They are very different. The Queen World even has more masts at the front. --Detour 16:48, 5 August 2011 (EDT)
At the risk of making a futile point, two of those masts are really cargo derricks. 68.147.45.66 18:37, 5 August 2011 (EDT)
Okay, I made a more generic point on the subject. What do you guys think? 68.147.45.66 18:51, 5 August 2011 (EDT)
Before you say anything about the differences from Hanseatic, take a look at this. 68.147.45.66 19:01, 5 August 2011 (EDT)
If it's generic, do we really need to note that it sorta looks like every liner ever? --Detour 19:23, 5 August 2011 (EDT)
This. If it's not an exact match to anything, there's not much a point to say it looks similar to some ships. Cruise liners tend to look like other cruise liners. This is not a revelation. —Interrobang 19:53, 5 August 2011 (EDT)
Stick a fork in me, I'm done! 68.147.45.66 21:56, 5 August 2011 (EDT)
