Talk:R.E.V.
Didn't R.E.V.'s name get changed from something else that was vaguely genocidal? Race Elimination Vehicle or something along those lines? I can't remember, except that I thought it was hilarious back in the day. Ye gods, RiD is "back in the day" now. -hx 15:12, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
- I think it was "Race Evolution Vehicle". Not genocidal, but all too easily twisted into "yellow power!". --M Sipher 15:26, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
- That sounds right. I knew it wasn't "Race Execution Vehicle," but was something that SOUNDED like it. -hx 15:52, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
Uprising
[edit]Outside some other clue, I think the pilot from Uprising was a version of this Eagle Killer, not R.E.V.'s Korean name. Jim already used Battlefennec and a few other Battle Beasts in this manner. --Xaaron (talk) 17:04, 1 January 2017 (EST)
- Eagle Killer in "Derailment" has yellow feathers and is a Maximal, not a Predacon. S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent 47 (talk) 17:05, 1 January 2017 (EST)
- Betting Jim or Dave probably was meaning for him to be a combination of both. Escargon (talk) 17:09, 1 January 2017 (EST)
- Assuming you're right, would a separate Eagle Killer (BW) page be most appropriate? --Xaaron (talk) 17:18, 1 January 2017 (EST)
- If BWU Eagle Killer is a composite at all, he draws way more elements from the RiD guy than the Beastformer. It stays on this page. S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent 47 (talk) 17:49, 1 January 2017 (EST)
- "Way more" elements? By what metric? All we know is that he's a yellow feathered Maximal pilot. Only one of those four words applies to REV. 1 1/2, if we're being generous that Maximal = Autobot. REV is yellow, but the Beastformer has feathers. REV's not a pilot, but the Beastformer is a sky specialist. I'd say it's even, at best, tilted more towards the Beastformer, if we're honest. --Xaaron (talk) 18:01, 1 January 2017 (EST)
- He's even paired up with another RiD guy! And Beastformer Autobots/Decepticons are accordingly converted into Maximals/Predacons in this continuity. S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent 47 (talk) 18:03, 1 January 2017 (EST)
- I mean...meh? *shrugs* That means nothing to me. Night Viper's a Predacon, Manta is a Maximal, and nobody's really fighting for traditional factions in BWU. Anyway, this is why I suggest an Eagle Killer (BW) page. A "new" character, with elements of both, but owing most of his character to neither. --Xaaron (talk) 18:12, 1 January 2017 (EST)

Jim has stated that RID Autobots are open to be used as BWU Maximals, and REV has an eagle on his chest; what else was his beast mode going to be? I would be open to the idea that him being a pilot was drawn from the Battle Beast, but generally it seems he would best fit here. --Riptide (talk) 16:52, 2 January 2017 (EST)
