Seeing as Jack is 16, I severely doubt Raf is 15, though the statement about who-we-wish-we-were still stands.

Episode 3 answers it. He's 12 and a half.. still -extremely- short even for the level of art stylization.

It is a good point. Article titles are usually the character's most common nickname. Like Sam Witwicky or Jack Darby. Raf's character bio is even titled "Raf" but Jack's is titled "Jackson". - Starfield 12:37, 29 November 2010 (EST)

Ears

In the third part of Darkness Rising when Fowler is captured and the alarm goes off in Autobot HQ Raf is the only one of the kids who seems to be affected by it. In fact he makes a comment about it hurting his ears while Jack and Miko both show no signs of the siren doing anything other than making them wonder why it's going off. This certainly seems to suggest he's got much better hearing than they do. Could also explain how he understands Bumblebee. -annonymous, 6/03/2001. 1:59 AM EST

Religion

Is Raf Esquivel Jewish? His name certainly sounds that way.

I don't recall the series getting into his ethnic or religious background. His large family is consistent with being Hispanic Catholic (which is also plausible with his full name), so I suppose someone could speculate that he is from converso stock, but I'd be surprised if something that specific was intended by the series creative staff (how many times do you see someone given such a specific background when it doesn't matter to the story?). We really only know that Miko is Japanese because she is an exchange student, which explains why here parents aren't there. Waverod ✈️ (talk) 18:09, 22 September 2018 (EDT)
