So what we have are vocal pronunciations versus something printed on screen? Is there any printed representation of the "rarified" spelling? The actual differing vowel is more of a schwa than a short "e" or "i", so it could easily sound about the same no matter which way it's spelled.--Apcog 22:27, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
