Talk:Reunification: Part 1

The columns for Autobot and Decepticon seem to only list SG Autobots and Decepticons while Autobot and Decepticons from other worlds get stuck in other. Perhaps for clairity's sake the columns should clearly state "Shattered Glass Autobot" or "Autobot (SG)"? Opinions welcome. 207.181.17.24 20:10, 5 November 2009 (EST)

It doesn't help that the column links go to the regular Autobot and Decepticon pages. It makes the column headings more ambiguous. I support clarifying the headers. Also instead of "other" there should probably be regular Autobot and Decepticon columns. - Starfield 20:17, 5 November 2009 (EST)
I think it's redundant, personally, as SG stories are marked as being such already... plus I think Reunification is the only place where it's even going to come up. But I'm not against it, either.
I do agree that the headers on all of the "Shattered Glass" comic and story pages could use clarification in terms of just the linkage, though. We should probably link them to the "Shattered Glass" anchor on the faction pages, and I had been thinking already before this that maybe we should do the same for the "Shattered Glass" Template:Factions icon links as well. --Jeysie 20:23, 5 November 2009 (EST)
That's part of the confusion that lead to me editing them, as when you linked on the column for "Autobots" it linked you to pages on normal Autobots, which Cliffjumper and Skyfall were members of... so why couldn't they be listed as Autobots? They they linked to pages about SG Autobots that would make more sense. 207.181.17.24 20:28, 5 November 2009 (EST)
Well, we don't have a separate SG Autobot page. And I'm not really sure we need one, as while the fact that SG Autobots act more like normal Decepticons and such makes them very different from normal Autobots... there's not a heck of a lot more to say outside of that in terms of specifics. (Although now that I think about it, the "Shattered Glass" sections on both pages could at least use a write-up on the history of both factions in the SG verse... yay, more to-do list stuff... anyhoo.)
But, changing the links to at least point to the specific "Shattered Glass" section of the faction pages, I think that's a good idea. --Jeysie 20:33, 5 November 2009 (EST)
You could easily link them to this page and subsection Autobot 207.181.17.24 20:41, 5 November 2009 (EST)
I think the fact that Autobots and SG Autobots can't be mixed together in featured character columns indicates that SG Autobots probably could have their own page, especially since they meet each other through dimension hopping. They aren't really the same faction. - Starfield 20:42, 5 November 2009 (EST)
You don't need a new page, just link to this section of the page Autobot instead of the main page Autobot - if someone wants to avoid the extra work involved, I'll do it if other agrees (I'll wait for permission to avoid an edit war). 207.181.17.24 20:45, 5 November 2009 (EST)
Nah, I'd be willing to do it if everyone ends up agreeing. Probably should give it time to wait to see if more than just our tiny handful weighs in, though.
And... mmm. On the one hand, I could see justifying new pages for SG Autobots and SG Decepticons. On the other hand, I really don't like our practice of making separate pages even when there's hardly more than a couple sentences to say about the subject in question intro-wise. --Jeysie 20:51, 5 November 2009 (EST)
I agree, keep the SG Autobot as a section of the main Autobot page, but link the top of the character column in the SG fiction character section to the SG subsection, not the top. Dear god, two people agree. We get a couple more and there will be concensus! 207.181.17.24 20:57, 5 November 2009 (EST)
If I might stick my oar in: I suggest the title of "Visitors" for the third column. Dividing the Nexus Prime guys into factions doesn't seem like it would be useful to me, since they're all essentially one group. Though I would support a separate "Transtechs" column (I don't know what Transtech guys' deal is in terms of this story, admittedly). --abates 21:09, 5 November 2009 (EST)
The three TransTechs are SG Alpha Trion's groupies, basically (and are also visitors). --Jeysie 21:17, 5 November 2009 (EST)
Problem is if you changed it to visitors you'd still need "others" for the non-aligned bots who appear in some issues. Better to keep Others as Others I think. 207.181.17.24 21:24, 5 November 2009 (EST)
