Was Trypticon developed for Diaclone (like Metroplex) or was he developed specifically for Transformers with changes made to allow him to interact with the previously designed Scramble City toys? --Khajidha 10:37, 25 April 2011 (EDT)

I've seen it thrown around a bit, but never been able to confirm it. My consistent leaning is that he wasn't a Diaclone toy, because he had to come with extra connector pieces to emulate Metroplex's combine-with-the-base-mode-leaders gimmick, instead of having the feature molded in the way 'Plex did. Plus his walking gimmick doesn't scream Diaclone to me. - Chris McFeely 11:15, 25 April 2011 (EDT)
