Talk:Sentinel Supreme

This takes authorial intent to strange levels. "Sentinel Supreme" is kind of a big name that seems like it would be used for an important character. But he was just a dead generic. The writer and editor of the story did not intend to have dead character with such an important sounding name. Boo's post is also a little odd. "[Sentinel Supreme] played a Dead Decepticon once, and a Dead Autobot in another lol". What does that mean exactly? The "lol" should be a hint not to take it seriously.

I don't know if either of the dead cameos are intended to be Sentinel Supreme, judging on the "he played a ..." part, followed by a "lol". "Sentinel Supreme" appears to be Boo's fan character who was used for cameos. The article should at least have a "noname-designation" tag, if not moved to trivia on the Arrival issue pages. - Starfield 12:55, 17 January 2010 (EST)

Well, we have an article for Vibes and she was just Don's fan character whose name was only ever given in interviews, right? --Spengs (at work, can't log in)
I'm not sure this character's name was actually given. We want to take an "lol" post as canon? Plus the name introduces more continuity questions than "Vibes". Is he related to Sentinel Prime? Is "Supreme" a rank? The writer and editor of the series didn't intend for those questions to be introduced. - Starfield 13:47, 17 January 2010 (EST)
Yeah, I'm pretty much with Star on this. Characters like Vibes and Saber are just... there. They don't do or mean anything. But to actually claim that this character is someone with an important name like "Sentinel Supreme" (given the emphasis Animated puts on names-as-ranks)... it sits ill with me. It's more like he recycled the design of his fan character for some corpses. - Chris McFeely 13:50, 17 January 2010 (EST)
I can't say the creator is acting very... convincing to his character. Too many 'lol, I dunno' speak to take the matter seriously. That said, the 'character' is canon and this is the name his creator gave to him. Even if the name might seem misplaced (though rather only for the 'Supreme'... and what exactly do we know about 'supreme' as an indication of rank to say he can't be called 'Supreme'?), it's still his name. Animated en G1 Sentinel Supreme

[edit]

Propose merging G1 and Animated versions of an easter egg non-character in one article? - Chris McFeely 17:48, 25 December 2010 (EST)

Seconded. - Starfield 18:00, 25 December 2010 (EST)
Me too. - Tristan 3893518:34 25 December 2010 (EST)

Why not. --Khajidha 20:49, 25 December 2010 (EST)
I support this. --Detour 21:47, 25 December 2010 (EST)
I think he should be at "Sentinel Supreme" as an Animated Decepticon character, with the G1 appearance slotted under trivia as a cameo. He appears as a living character in in the "Adventures in Reading" version of Bots of Science, which is a more prominent role than "corpse". --Monzo 23:08, 2 January 2011 (EST)

Body type?

[edit]

He's shown with two different color schemes, on two different factions, dying two different times. I think this is a body-type, rather than a single specific character. HarbringerOfDoom (talk) 09:11, 7 March 2016 (EST)

He's an easter egg that's vaguely notable enough to get his own page. Claiming it to be a "body-type" would be attributing a significance to it that it doesn't have. To quote Vector Prime, "you need to stop overthinking things". --Riptide (talk) 09:25, 7 March 2016 (EST)
