Talk:Sentinel Zeta Prime
I think the Exodus section of this article could do with some more expansion and possible a total rewrite, especially as it was originally written by an anonymous editor who doesn't know how to write an article. --FFN 14:59, 3 July 2010 (EDT)
Related characters?
[edit]Is there REALLY a good reason not to give the Bumper and Fastback of this universe their own articles? --M Sipher 16:12, 12 July 2010 (EDT)
- I figured they pass the Koji's Mother test for "Related"-dom because they only exist for like one sentence, and interchangeably. SP says "You killed Bumper and Fastback after I sent them to spy on you!" and Megs is all "Did I? Oh well." A page for either or both of them would say they were sent to spy on Megatron and he killed them. Any link on any other character's page to to "Bumper [and/or] Fastback (Prime)" would pretty much have to have already said the exact same thing, since there is no other reason to mention them, and never will be. It would be a one-sentence, completely redundant page(s).
- I don't have super-strong feelings in this particular case and could understand people wanting to split them off; I guess I'm just trying to prime the pump for what I see as the inevitable creation of either a lot of "Related"s or a big "Minor Character" page for Exodus. (I think we'll need a HUGE "Minor Characters" page for Almanac 2--what with all the no-art name-dropped types--but I digress).
- However we sort them, I strongly think they should stay united, like Martin and Roland or Chak and Una, as they have no individual history, identity, or agency whatsoever. --Thylacine 2000 16:46, 12 July 2010 (EDT)
- You should probably check that Chak and Una link. We also split Telus and Rotorbolt. —Interrobang 16:51, 12 July 2010 (EDT)
- ....huh, well, that shut me up. In general I think "Related Characters" are viable ways of presenting info that would otherwise be too slight and redundant to list separately, but if people really want Bumper and Fastback to be separated out, I wouldn't fight it. --Thylacine 2000 21:03, 12 July 2010 (EDT)
- And let's be honest. There's always a chance we'll be splitting those two and having more to say about them in the future. --M Sipher 21:17, 12 July 2010 (EDT)

Not an Autobot!
[edit]Just a point for discussion. Sentinel Prime comes right out in Exodus and tells Starscream he is NOT an Autobot but as Prime is a member of no movement or faction? Does this affect how we list him at all? Should he be listed as a Neutral and an Autobot? (Probably should get a continuity note at least.) --ZacWilliam 18:36, 27 July 2010 (EDT)
- He seems to be an Autobot in the video game. So he is one in at least one continuity. --ItsWalky 18:42, 27 July 2010 (EDT)
- Yeah, I thought he might be in the game. How do handle that difference? List him as a Neutral and an Autobot? --ZacWilliam 18:47, 27 July 2010 (EDT)
Comics and Conflicts
[edit]However, the War for Cybertron comic also written by Alex Irvine refers to the disappearance of Sentinel, indicating Sentinel was Zeta's predecessor in the game continuity.
Since the comic is just an illustrated version of the scene in the novel, I'd say it's just another allusion to the character of Sentinel Zeta Prime as already established. I don't see any contradiction at all. --Thylacine 2000 13:58, 20 August 2010 (EDT)
- I thought the WFC comic was meant to canonize those portions of Exodus that weren't in conflict with the game for its universal stream. Alientraveller 17:31, 20 August 2010 (EDT)
- I've taken the liberty of rephrasing that line to remove any further confusion. The comic further pins Sentinel and Zeta together as the same person. --Sabrblade 11:55, 30 July 2011 (EDT)
"besting off"?
[edit]"Among his achievements was besting off a Quintesson invasion" The phrase "besting off" makes no sense to me. I was going to rephrase it but am unsure of the intended meaning. Did he defeat an invasion in progress or did he prevent one from occurring? --Khajidha (talk) 07:33, 2 April 2019 (EDT)
Sentinel Zeta Prime's name
[edit]I just realized that his name was always Sentinel Zeta Prime, even before Exodus and WFC comic came out. I found it while reviewing the game's files.

Sentinel Zeta Prime doesn't exist
[edit]If we have to apply what "Hasbro" says, then we should apply what Transformers DOTM's script says. You see, in this script, Sentinel Prime united the cybertronian tribes. In fact, Nova Prime from G1 did it. So, if I use your way, then we should call it Sentinel Nova Prime.
Again, it makes no sense. Even if Hasbro says the "full name" of Zeta Prime, it appears that the character is only called Zeta Prime in the final work. You cannot imagine a new character called "Sentinel Zeta Prime" just for one quote from Hasbro.
What about Hasbro ? Check discussions about the project WFC, everyone asked Hasbro with this question : "Are we going to get Sentinel or Zeta or both ?". Hasbro finally answered "Zeta Prime" with a picture of the character. They didn't say "Sentinel Zeta Prime".
If you want to add the truth in this page, then rename it Zeta Prime (WFC) or delete it once and for all.
'Zeta Prime has nothing to do with Alpha Trion.' This page is full of lies. Zeta Prime didn't free Cybertron from the Quintessons. Sentinel Prime is the PREDECESSOR of Zeta Prime. Sentinel Prime had the matrix in many stories (not all but enough to prove he is not Zeta). Zeta Prime didn't get the matrix.
Even Exodus proved they weren't the same character about the belt. Again, go watch the G1, the ORIGINAL Transformers and the cartoon of 2005. Sentinel and Zeta are not the same character. Plus not the same skin appeareance AT ALL. You misinterpret everything. Go bring your "proofs" and it will be EASY to disprove them. Hasbro has already contradicted itself. Come with more of your "proofs" and contradictions. You talk about Exodus ? Don't you see the belt ? Your "Sentinel Zeta Prime" is so unrealistic for Sentinel is the mentor of Optimus WHEREAS Zeta is not the mentor of Optimus. You could say Sentinel and Zeta are the predecessors of Optimus, but then so are Alpha, Nominus and Nova. So then, Sentinel Zeta Alpha Nova Nominus Prime is the predecessor of Optimus. You are completely out of the reality.
It is a mistake to merge Sentinel and Zeta. I hope you find the maturity to not block me again, and to think before enforcing this fanatically idealogy of "Sentinel Zeta Prime".
