Talk:Shadow Striker (Cyberverse)
Shadow Striker vs Shadowstriker
[edit]Shadowstriker is the spelling used on the show, Shadow Striker is used on merch. I suggest using "Shadowstriker" on everything except merch since we are supposed to use the in-universe spellings right? If we do, we can easily move this page to Shadowstriker (Cyberverse) and move Shadowstriker to Shadowstriker (episode). --notirishman (talk) 13:42, 15 October 2018 (EDT)
- No? The spellings on toy packaging always win out. Saix (talk) 13:55, 15 October 2018 (EDT)
- Walky said otherwise, as seen in this edit summary. --notirishman (talk) 14:02, 15 October 2018 (EDT)
- "Nitro" and "Nitro Zeus" are not alternate spellings. Saix (talk) 15:24, 15 October 2018 (EDT)
- I mean, "Elita One" and "Elita-1" are. --notirishman (talk) 15:46, 15 October 2018 (EDT)
- "Elita One" was used on a 1996 kit and was the script spelling for decades without a contemporary toy that said otherwise. Please stop grasping at straws. Saix (talk) 16:19, 15 October 2018 (EDT)
- Fair enough, but at least find the page where it says toy packaging always wins out. --notirishman (talk) 16:28, 15 October 2018 (EDT)

- Have we seen it visually on the show, as opposed to "in credits"? The BW people showed us time and time again they didn't really know how to spell any of their characters' names, and as a toy-based franchise with names that have to be trademarked, the way Hasbro uses the name should basically always win out over alternatives. (ie not "Black Arachnia" no matter how many times that shows up.) That's obviously not relevant when Hasbro is trademarking something else entirely, like "Decepticon Nitro" or "Beast Changer". -LV (talk) 16:38, 15 October 2018 (EDT)
- Yeah, that makes sense. But is there a place on the wiki with that and other such etiquette? --notirishman (talk) 16:44, 15 October 2018 (EDT)
