Talk:Shingo

I'm certain this article is inaccurate... for example, the initial letter wasn't written by Shingo, but by some relative of his. And the real Shingo DID eventually write in, which was where he criticized the series. But I don't feel like digging out my old comics to scour the letters pages right now. Does anybody feel like fixing it? As well as the accuracy problems, the article should really cite exact issues for the letters and the contest rather than vaguely describing that they happened at some point. I will probably eventually fix this myself if nobody else is motivated enough to do it first. --Steve-o 00:08, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

  • To be honest, I only had a vague idea of who Shingo was until now, since I didn't start reading the comic until #24, and the original Shingo letters were apparently printed sometime before that. --TVsGrady 00:51, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

what issue does the original shingo letter appear?

[edit]

I think that would go well with the article...

  • Shingo's cousin writes in in Issue #18. Issue #19 mentions they're still waiting for Shingo to write. Issue 20 has an "outburst" that Shingo has not written in. Issue 34 has someone admitting that they're not Shingo. --75.69.176.225 05:19, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

The real Shingo never wrote in

[edit]

The "real" Shingo letter was signed with Roman numerals following the name, prompting the letters page to comment "So the real Shingo (or a descendant?) finally writes in and what do we get? Criticism." At the time I took it at face value, but upon re-reading years later, I became convinced that it was yet another Shingo impostor that the Marvel editors mistook for the real deal.Keldroc 06:40, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
