Talk:Shockwave (G1)
There was a rumor for a long time that Shockwave was killed in TF:TM. If he can indeed be spotted in Season 3, the name of the episode should be included here.--G.B. Blackrock 17:19, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
He was killed in the script to the movie, but that part was not animated, or at least not animated clearly so you could see him die. Shockwave does appear in later episodes in group shots, but then, these same group shots have combiner super robots standing next to their components and zombie versions of Brawn. Shockwave's post-movie status is indeterminable. --ItsWalky 17:33, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
Wasn't there a laser-disc floating around which had large portions of Shockwave's personality encoded onto it? Even if he did actually DIE, there's certainly precedence for Transformers being resurrected from that kind of backup.--TheTurnipKing 06:32, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
- Perhaps you're referring to the disc that Shockwave gave to the Predacons in US issue #25. I've always assumed that the extent of Shockwave's personality on that disc was largely a claim made by Shockwave calculated to make Megatron think of Optimus Prime, driving him further into madness. I'm not sure the claim is meant to be taken seriously, but it is up for interpretation. In any event, this was a comic continuity occurrence, and wouldn't have anything to do with the cartoon Shockwave's post-movie status.--G.B. Blackrock 13:44, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
- Only thing is, how could Shockwave have made Megatron deliberately think of Prime with that reference, since it was never implied that Shockwave was even aware of the fact that Optimus Prime wasn't actually dead, let alone that his personality was stored on a floppy disc? It always seemed like a coincidence too perfect to me. Takeshi357 15:34, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
This page totally needs a screenshot of Shockwave with the Himself Gun. --Andrusi 20:45, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
- Consider it done. --DrSpengler 20:59, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
- Yay! --Andrusi 21:34, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
Wow.. I don't think there's much more to add here! --UndeadScottsman 22:36, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
it would be better if season 3 pictures of Shockwave can be found.
Could those season 3 episodes Five Faces of Darkness, Part 3 and Five Faces of Darkness, Part 4 animation errors be his clones?.
Binaltech entry
[edit]Shockwave has still no binaltech entry. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.244.229.218 (talk • contribs){{#if:20:10, 21 April 2008| 20:10, 21 April 2008|}}.

6" Titanium
[edit]Should the prototype photo be included in the article?
- I think there should be at least mention of it. --Starcrunch 21:14, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
Shockwave Variants page
[edit]Hey guys. I'm considering making a page dedicated to the multiple variant versions of Shockwave, such as Astro Magnum and the Four Star Astrogun. A couple of these are already mentioned in the G1 toy section of Shockwave's page. I figured a dedicated page would be better, and the Shockwave G1 toy section can mention and link to it.
I wanted to do it on the wiki because: a) it's a strong part of Shockwave's history; b) it would be helpful to fans trying to identify their Shockwave variants (no other really good page online does this); c) I'm not the foremost expert on the topic, so it would benefit from community revision; d) Shockwave is awesome.
I ran this buy Steve-o and he said he would support it. He said if I wanted to be conservative about it I should post here in advance first. So here I post.
On the assumption that no one will object, I'll start working on the page soon.
- Hi, I'm probably responsible for most of the toy articles around here these days, and I have no objection, mainly because I have almost no knowledge about his variants, so I would welcome the information. --FFN 17:10, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
Shockwave's Left Hand
[edit]I think Shocky's left hand can switch into both laser cannon and normal hand just like Jazz, Ironhide, and Brawn. Because there is a cable (or energy tube) attached to his left arm. If his left hand are just a hand, then what is the function of the cable? Thus I think his left hand can switch into both laser cannon and normal hand. Though I didn't see he has a normal hand after four million years later. (Seems it is just animation error *sigh*) Well this is just my opinion. *smile* --TX55 09:06, September 11 2007 (UTC)
Cartoon intro
[edit]Wow. That "Note" at the front of the G1 Cartoon section is a little much, isn't it? Wouldn't something that wordy and in-depth do better in Trivia? Or maybe a term paper? --Xaaron 17:35, 3 September 2009 (EDT)
War for Cybertron
[edit]Anyone see that new commercial for the game with Megatron putting Shockwave in command, and Shocky having Soudwave transform to play "The Touch" while he blasts guys?
Do we include info on commericals here? It also had a few seconds of Shock flying in like some sort of Cybertronian plane like thing, but it was hard to tell. Skyshock Thunderblast 03:30, 3 June 2010 (EDT)
((I'm not the one, btw, who added the line to the Trivia section about Shockwave officially being second-in-command of the Decepticons! I rather doubt we can take that commercial too seriously~ I just thought the commercial itself was worth mentioning.)) Skyshock Thunderblast 03:32, 3 June 2010 (EDT)
- It already listed on The Touch, so it should be covered here as well. --abates 03:44, 3 June 2010 (EDT)
Shockwave Alternate names
[edit]The article states "He is also known as Shockblast and has gone by the alias Longarm when disguised as an Autobot"
I know that Shockblast is a pre production name and is used for alternate toy names when the name Shockwave is not available, but when has G1 Shockwave ever gone by the name Longarm?
This name was used by Animated Shockwave. Did someone confuse the two or are there stories Im not aware of? The article itself makes no mention of Longarm asaide from the intro paragraph.

NM. I just looked at the Cartoon continuity article. Transformers Legends has him as Longarm. Sarpiedon (talk) 14:37, 1 August 2017 (EDT)
