...Seriously? We're really going through with such a major change with little to no discussion beforehand? Escargon (talk) 19:09, 12 December 2022 (EST)

I can't say I agree with that take. S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent 47 (talk) 19:37, 12 December 2022 (EST)
For this specific proposal there is four people discussing it (including me, so I don't get why you're trying to "gotcha" me with it), which fits the definition of "little to no. Escargon (talk) 19:45, 12 December 2022 (EST)
The proposal was up for almost three weeks; more than enough time for people to chime in if they so chose. Yours was the only voice of dissent. Riptide was well within her rights to implement the change. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 19:50, 12 December 2022 (EST)
It was on a user's sandbox talk page that had no indication in the title it was about Sideways! At the very least it should have been brought up on the actual Sideways page, but I think a change this big warranted being on the community portal at the very least. This should have been discussed more thoroughly and quite frankly I'm pretty mad that there wasn't even a followup discussion about this before we just decided to go full speed ahead. Escargon (talk) 19:56, 12 December 2022 (EST)
Well, here's the thing: we really should have done this as soon as we decided on the "each continuity family's appearances of Sideways get their own page", because they're appearing in a separate family and narrative from any other Sideways. This is, frankly, the way this should have been under the current system. --Riptide (talk) 22:02, 12 December 2022 (EST)
...if that's really your justification I cannot frigging believe you went ahead with this. The continuity family he's appearing in is specifically a multiversal hub of travel; we don't give separate articles to the few hundred characters that show up in TransTech because of that. This is not at all what the rules of Sideways were and you know it. Escargon (talk) 05:29, 13 December 2022 (EST)
No, we don't, but Sideways is specifically a special case because everything about him is fucked. This Sideways is at once meant to be RID, Armada, movie, and more and there's no way to properly accomodate that under our current system, which is why I think splitting it off is the best of a bad bunch. --Riptide (talk) 12:27, 13 December 2022 (EST)
It existed fine for 7 plus years the ways it was! Now we're just making up stuff that clearly wasn't the original intention of the actual original stories, and if it's a problem of "the system," well then maybe we should have an a discussion about how much the system actually works. Escargon (talk) 12:45, 13 December 2022 (EST)

We do not need to merge this back into the other Sideways page. As Riptide has already articulated, this Sideways is a tangled amalgamation of just about every prior Sideways at once, and therefore the closest to a good solution is cordon it off onto its own page. (Also the AVP Sideways doesn't even USE Armada as the image) McBaggins (talk) 12:31, 13 December 2022 (EST)

He's written to be Armada Sideways! He's positioned as a rival to Vector Prime, brings up Cybertron-related things like Soundwave, Planet X, and Galactic Guardians, is partnered with the Armada Mini-Cons, and so on! The only reason why it's linked to the others is because at the time it was written the Robotmasters myth was something that, for all intents and purposes, was true. Escargon (talk) 12:46, 13 December 2022 (EST)
Yes, and because he was written with the Robotmasters myth in mind, he is functionally a composite of all prior versions of Sideways, not just Armada Sideways. He would bring up Cybertron-related things even if he was "meant to be" Animated or RID Sideways, because the approach to the character was to treat him as a composite. Nothing you're saying contradicts anything I'm saying. --Riptide (talk) 13:03, 13 December 2022 (EST)

I did not chime in on the original vote because I wanted to leave it to the experts and I was satisfied with how Riptide was handling the sandbox. But I'm satisfied with the current article and I find a splitting messy and unnecessary at this point. MrRald (talk) 12:37, 13 December 2022 (EST)

Yeah, well, considering I've spent maybe around 5-7 writing up everything Ask Vector Prime related on here and elsewhere, I have a pretty definitive claim to being the expert, and I think this is a total mess and completely inaccurate to the actual stories themselves. Escargon (talk) 12:45, 13 December 2022 (EST)
You writing up AVP does not give you more authority or the right to overrule anyone else, especially not an admin like Riptide. I suggest you tone down the combative attitude, or there will be consequences. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 12:58, 13 December 2022 (EST)

I know my word carries about a gnat's worth of weight but to me, putting AVP Sideways in his own little box makes the most sense, and I feel like drawing it out into a big debate is ultimately going to accomplish little but further upset people. Sideways is a mess and detangling the quagmire of circular reporting and cosmic trickery does not seem worth the effort. I think Riptide's addition of a page for AVP Sideways makes the most sense out of a senseless character. LenaPrime (talk) 12:53, 13 December 2022 (EST)

Was going to write up my own comment but this is pretty similar to what I was going to say. It really just feels like the cleanest option to a semi-outside perspective. Rgby (talk) 13:01, 13 December 2022 (EST)
