Talk:Sky Lynx (G1)
This article sounds like it was written by Sky Lynx himself. I love it. -- Hunter-113 18:43, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks - after a friend remarked that this article was so short compared to the Wikipedia's equivalent, I sought to rectify it by expanding the cartoon section and his Route of All Evil appearance. During the course of doing so, I realized that Predaking only appeared AFTER Sky Lynx had been shut down, and even though he had never faced Sky Lynx in this continuity, I considered it amusing enough to use as a joke for their long-standing cartoon rivalry. --FFN 18:59, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
Sky Lynx in motion
[edit]I added videos of Sky Lynx Rolling and walking, but unfortunattely, he is mistransformed here and it's the best video I could find. Could someonewho has the toy record a correctly transformed Sky Lynx in movement?
DW comic scans
[edit]One of those two images has to go. The image-to-content ratio is way too disproportionate for a guy who's got plenty of appearances elsewhere. --ItsWalky 17:31, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
- If we must, I'd keep the first one, as it provides the best viewof his two bodies, and doesn't start in mid-sentence. JW 17:34, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
- The second one is used on several other pages, so it could go without being homeless. -- SFH 17:55, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
Berko
[edit]Given that SL and Berko apparently form a partnership in "Carnival", and are definitely partners in "Mecannibals" and "Recipe", he should probably be mentioned in there. I'll get to it eventually, but I thought I'd mention it in case someone else wanted to tackle it. JW 15:06, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
Reissue History
[edit]Following a recent link at Autobase Aichi, I checked out Takara's "Tale of Sky Lynx" page. Aside from what we know about Sky Lynx not being sold in Japan during the '80s because it was made by another company, it also notes that the reason Sky Lynx is now available stems from the merger with Tomy. After the merger, a member of the TF development team spotted a "shuttle dinosaur" development code name among the molds listed in Tomy's possession. Apparently, Toy Box was not the original equipment manufacturer, but rather, it had requested that Tomy develop the Sky Lynx design for it. (Such outsourced design and mold development was not uncommon in the Japanese toy market at the time.) The text also notes that, had the situation moved a bit more slowly, the molds might have been lost forever.
So, mere Talk page discussion, or worth putting in the article?--Apcog 16:50, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
- TOTALLY wiki-worthy material. Trivia section, sure, but that is EXACTLY the kind of info that needs to be in the main pages. Probably also worth listing in Toy Box's article... does Toy Box have an article? And if not, why not? --M Sipher 16:56, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, then, that's done. Don't know enough about Toy Box to construct a full article on it, though.--Apcog 23:59, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
- Having written the trivia section in Sky Lynx speak, you are certain to reap ample rewards in the next life. --ItsWalky 00:03, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
- With the pattern so firmly established, could I do less?--Apcog 00:06, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

Search Bar Graphic
[edit]Where does that weird little Sky Lynx line art graphic above the search bar originate?--MCRG 23:43, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- An issue of Blackthorne's Transformers in 3-D, I believe - RolonBolon 00:40, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
Lynx VS Puma
[edit]Can someone put in a source for Sky Lynx being a puma in Japan? Because I'm looking at the Japanese box right now and it says he is a 山猫 (yamaneko)-- a lynx. Evan1975 20:26, 19 December 2009 (EST)
Toybox info
[edit]Found this discussion http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/classics-11/japanese-hobby-magazine-scans-for-january-2008-164116/ Interesting summary of an interview with Junichi Ishikawa. Not sure how to cite this for inclusion. Khajidha 15:15, 22 December 2009 (EST)
Commercial
[edit]This commercial [1], states that Sky Lynx "triple changes from space shuttle to bird and lynx and then combines to form Sky Lynx". Does that mean he is officially a Triple Changer who belongs in Category: Triple Changers? --Khajidha 14:21, 30 January 2011 (EST)
Combiner Wars
[edit]A lot of people are reporting that Sky Lynx's ratchet joints are really loose, to the point of making the figure very floppy in combined mode. Should that be brought up? MBG (talk) 00:51, 20 February 2016 (EST)
- His joints are perfectly tight. They're, like, ratcheted. The problem with him is the combiner mode's shoulders don't tab into place. It has nothing to do with joint tightness. --ItsWalky (talk) 00:59, 20 February 2016 (EST)
Lynx mode
[edit]It's not mentioned in the article, but it looks like the figure is perfectly capable of being transformed into Lynx mode with all of his limbs pointed the right way. I'm going to guess it's not called out anywhere in the instructions or on the box, but is it worth mentioning at least? We have a few other toys that have "extra" modes pointed out in their descriptions, but I wasn't 100% sure if I should add it or not. --King Starscream (talk) 13:02, 3 March 2016 (EST)
- I think I read somewhere that Hasbro acknowledged the lynx mode at a convention or Toy Fair or something. If that's true I that makes it worth noting in the article. Omegatron (talk) 07:26, 12 March 2016 (EST)
Kimmy Schmidt
[edit]Any way we could get a caption referencing the Sky Lynx episode of Kimmy Schmidt?KrytenKoro (talk) 11:23, 20 April 2016 (EDT)
Astroscope
[edit]Seeing that a figure called Astrocope was to be included with Sky lynx but was cut due to cost concerns, would he possibly have looked like the Armada figure or would this be a brand new character to the G1 continuity? It isn't the first time there have been Unicron Trilogy homages in the G1 universe. --Wildstreak (talk) 11:56, 13 March 2020 (EDT)
