Retooling or not?

[edit]

Over on the Smokescreen (G2) page Swindle and Mirage are used as examples of toys that share engineering without being actual retools. On Mirage's page, that toy is said to be a "heavy retool" of this one. Finally, on this page Swindle is said to be "the basis of [Mirage's] mold" which (while somewhat ambiguous) seems to mean that they are retools. I really don't care either way, but shouldn't it be presented consistently? --Khajidha 18:01, 19 February 2011 (EST)

It should. The truth is that the toys share similar engineering, but are definitely not retools of each other. --ItsWalky 18:04, 19 February 2011 (EST)
... Detour. DETOUR. "replacing pretty much all the parts, but keeping the transformation scheme the same." ... even by your own description, that is NOT WHAT A RETOOL IS. If you replace all the parts, but it has a similar transformation scheme, that is not a retool! By Hasbro's own admission (we asked them at Wizard World back in... 2003?) he is not a retool, but a similar design to save them production time. --ItsWalky 20:16, 19 February 2011 (EST)
So how should we present this on the pages themselves? --Khajidha 09:53, 25 February 2011 (EST)
