Uh oh, we have Retribution depicting this guy as a Decepticon who was aboard the Nemesis in far past, and we have Transformers Comic issue 4.20 depicting him as a newly-birthed Predacon created in the present day. What a to-do, what a to-do. --Sabrblade (talk) 07:03, 26 April 2014 (EDT)
- Apparently this note was overlooked. --Sabrblade (talk) 11:50, 3 May 2014 (EDT)
- Just include both fictional depictions and point out the glaring continuity issue in a note is my suggestion. A wiki's job is just to document things, not patch up continuity holes. Which is fortunate or unfortunate depending on your point of view.... --Ascendron (talk) 12:20, 3 May 2014 (EDT)
- Uh... about that (Prime Predacon)/(Prime Decepticon) thing... http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xIkfinWOfx4/U1uTtsoZ-qI/AAAAAAAAA_o/TBv7iSGHjGQ/s1600/Scan_20140426+(2).jpg - SanityOrMadness (talk) 16:30, 3 May 2014 (EDT)
- Well, this one is still a Predacon species-wise while the other is an ordinary Cybertronian Decepticon. I'm open to better suggestions. --Sabrblade (talk) 16:51, 3 May 2014 (EDT)
- I'm not seeing how this is any different from the G1 Dinobots, quite honestly. - SanityOrMadness (talk) 16:59, 3 May 2014 (EDT)
- This one is a Predacon clone born in the present, the other is a Cybertronian who was aboard the Nemesis thousands of years ago in the past. They're not even the same species. --Sabrblade (talk) 17:24, 3 May 2014 (EDT)
- This one is a cobbled-together thing made in the present, the other is a Cybertronian who was aboard the Ark thousands of years ago in the past. - SanityOrMadness (talk) 15:41, 4 May 2014 (EDT)
- Those two don't reside in the same timeline/universe. --Sabrblade (talk) 17:18, 4 May 2014 (EDT)
- There's nothing even remotely suggesting that Titan Prime comics are a part of the main timeline, besides like the one reference to Crisscross, and half the stuff that's taken place in the comics don't match up with the main Aligned story, like with the whole Soundwave talking thing. Escargon (talk) 17:44, 4 May 2014 (EDT)
- Why are we pretending that Aligned is one consistent timeline or universe? It isn't and wasn't. Those two are takes on the same concept in different continuities and it's stupid to separate them. Mimi (talk) 16:55, 8 May 2014 (EDT)
- I'm with Mimi on this one. It's pretty obtuse to think there can't be any alternate universes in the Aligned frachise, despite what Hasbro says. Escargon (talk) 15:37, 10 May 2014 (EDT)
- Well then again, when you are talking about alternate universes, then indeed anything can happen (Retribution is a story that technically took place in the past, so it could happen or not), now since I wrote my own previous edit, I could not help but think about Cerebros (G1) between the marvel comic and the cartoon (a comparable situation in other words), and even the techno-bots (expecially their cartoon origins in contrast to the other media where they were involved), but the two tantrums are completely different than what I have mentioned before (one is purely decepticon, and the other uses some CNA of a Predacon), so thus I am still with keeping them apart, because they are far too different than the examples I have given.Go(toby070)Bots (talk) 15:44, 10 May 2014 (EDT)
- Retribution's part of the main Aligned universe. And we have people who are completely different from most incarnations of themselves, but still are aspects of the same person. IDW Galvatron and Hearts of Steel Scourge, for example. Escargon (talk) 15:55, 10 May 2014 (EDT)
- Well they key problem is (as stated before) the origin, fraction, and the fact there are too many possibilities for anything to be possible (weather Retribution isn't or is part of the Titan continuity, which is ambiguos especially in the beginning), besides, we know nothing of the Decepticon Tantrum's alternate mode (it could be anything) we only know he is a homage to the original G1 character by the presence of the aligned versions Headstrong and Rampage, it just may not fuse that smoothly well together in one article unlike G1 Cerebros (who transforms into the head of a big guy sentient or not) or the Technobots (weather they were created in Unicron's head or just cybertrionians that were there), as the Predacon and Decepticon only share the homage aspect and nothing else.
- So thus, my ultimate advice is to simply keep them separate as to keep a bit of caution, and to put a note in their respective notes sections of this matter so that the public would understand better (after all, we editors aren't the only ones seeing the wiki, we also have to be respectful and be good to those who just come here to view the pages.Go(toby070)Bots (talk) 17:32, 10 May 2014 (EDT)
