Talk:Terrormander

Hm. It occurs to me, with regards to the rear half of Terrormander's name... "da" is just "ta" with an accent mark... could his name be a pun on Terrormanta?

(Of course, the Japanese transliteration of "manta" doesn't have the vowel extender, so it doesn't work perfectly. But I feel the intent is there.) --Monzo 12:54, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

The Japanese transliteration of "terror", on the other hand, DOES have the vowel extender (テラー). Considering his manta-creature mode, I'd say it's pretty certain this is a purposely mangled version of terror + manta.--Apcog 15:54, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
So how is this logically rendered? Terrormantar? Terrormanter? -LV 22:35, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
Terrormander, I say, based on beast mode, bad-guy status, and general English-usage patterns within Japanese TF names. You could also end it in "-ar" or "-or", I suppose. This is all along the lines of "Terrorsaur", "Rhinox", "Cheetor"—or even "Mothra", just "monsterizing" a name with a nonsense syllable or two, so as long as the original words still come through clearly, it's a fairly open decision.--Apcog 23:29, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
