Botcon Precedent

[edit]

I don't see why that info gets removed when misconceptions and myths get addressed on other pages. The explanations for the removal of the edit (especially the second one) don't make particular sense. Bluestreak's page addresses the blue Bluestreak rumor, Energon Starscream's page addresses the "Nightscream was a separate charachter" myth, Hotrod's toy page addresses the black Rodimus Convoy prototype being rumored to be an unreleased lucky draw figure, not to mention the popular beleif that Metrotitan is a zombie being mentioned on Metrotitan's page. Thus I don't see why the edit about the Botcon precedent is being removed--BlackStarscream 03:10, 7 June 2011 (EDT)

Personally, I had never heard that rumor. Of course, I'm not very active in the fandom. The things you mentioned were widespread, long standing rumors/myths/misunderstandings. Maybe you just happened to encounter the one place that that BotCon rumor has been heard. --Khajidha 06:44, 7 June 2011 (EDT)

Repurposing

[edit]

Does what's written below mean this toy can count as G1 Thundercracker? --Ninjabot33 10:58, 12 June 2011 (EDT)

For your own personal collection, yes, but there's no official sanction for it. He's not like Slicer, who had both G1 and SG symbols, and appeared in fiction as both possible uses. --ItsWalky 11:01, 12 June 2011 (EDT)
The symbols don't really matter for some official repurposings, there are plenty of SG characters whose repurposed toys have the wrong sigil, like Beachcomber or Seaspray. Though you're right about him needing to appear in fiction as that use. --Ninjabot33 11:22, 12 June 2011 (EDT)
Right. Some toys have the wrong faction symbols, but they have to actually be physically repurposed to be considered repurposed. The wiki can't make that leap for them. Nobody's written a story about G1 Thundercracker in that specific body yet. --ItsWalky 11:35, 12 June 2011 (EDT)
In general if a figure made for one character is used in official fictionfor another, then its a repurpose. If not, then until said figure appears as another charachter in fiction, it is not a repurpose. Leaving practiaclly only one exception to the rule.--BlackStarscream 02:59, 5 July 2011 (EDT)
Shouldn't there be mention that Pete said they originally planned G2 Redux around G2 Ramjet and Action Master colored Thundercracker, something that eventually became this toy? 71.238.48.47 19:26, 18 September 2011 (EDT)

"Not a Seeker"

[edit]

"This article is about the heroic Decepticon who is not a Seeker." Has something somewhere specifically said that he isn't a Seeker? --Khajidha (talk) 15:17, 26 March 2020 (EDT)

Shattered Glass Seekers are a specific group of Autobots who turn into cars. It's safe to say Thundercracker isn't one of those guys. Voxel (talk) 06:38, 8 September 2020 (EDT)

Mango-clamps

[edit]

Is the phrase "mango-clamps" instead of "magno-clamps" on purpose? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dingdongdude (talkcontribs){{#if:| {{{2}}}|}}.
