Talk:Thunderwing (G1)
This is my first article for Wikipedia, so be mindful of that before you say hurtful things about poor grammar and/or spelling. That said, critisisms are welcome.
The content appears fine (if lacking in both his UK appearances, and a brief is needed on his Matrix Affinity, which is what set him apart.) the language is too informal/not detached enough for Wiki standards though. Also, calling US#75 'The Unicron Battle' is unnecessarily confusing, because the term has nother connotations in continuity.[User:Derik]
Truth be told, I don't have the issue with the Unicron Battle in it (I only have two of the Titan Book reproductions), so I wasn't sure what number it was. Let alone the actual title of the story, so I just went with something generic enough to tell when it happened.
But thanks for the comments.
revisions
[edit]I took your comments to heart and rewrote a heavy portion of the article. It's not quite Barns & Noble-Quality, but now it doesn't sound so much like the insane ramblings of a Decepticon fanboy.
Also, I discovered that it helps if you actually reread the comics in question before you set out to do something like this. The more you know, eh?
As for the UK comics thing, I honestly had no idea. As far as I was concerned, he was created for the Matrix Quest, spent a good chunk of time deceased, then failed to kill Unicron. So any amount of lore regarding the T-Man is outside my knowledge.
Megadeath?
[edit]The article is already written -- Megadeath -- and just needs to be fitted into the framework the author's got here... 82.45.64.176 17:08, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
Fiction order?
[edit]Shouldn't the Armada section come before IDW, since it came out before IDW's take? --M Sipher 19:37, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yes. It should. I'd fix it but there's a 90% chance I'll just end up on an edit conflict with Walky. --Detour 19:41, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
- Disregard last transmission. --Detour 19:43, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

Generations Instructions
[edit]Thunderwing's instructions depict him with Black Shadow's head and chest, revealing an eventual retool that still has not been officially announced.
Interestingly, mine didn't. In fact, I can see where they changed the pictures so that it's Thunderwing's head in the instructions like a running change. Maybe they're not going with the remold after all.Riddlerj 20:18, 16 January 2011 (EST)
- Or maybe they just pulled a change so the instructions remain recognizable? The chest on the Hasbro online instructions still show Black Shadow's chest. --Detour 20:30, 16 January 2011 (EST)
Thunderwing and the Matrix crash on Earth's moon?
[edit]Did Thunderwing and the Matrix really crash land on the Moon? I don't see anything that says that. In issue 62 was not far from Pz-Zazz (in space terms, at least). Then in issue 64 it was near a red planet that was presumably Pequod. It looks like the Ark was dropping off search parties near their destinations so the Ark was probably near VsQs at the time of the battle with Thunderwing. - Starfield 23:11, 12 August 2012 (EDT)
- How do you know the Ark was in orbit around Earth during the battle with Thunderwing? - Starfield 15:34, 13 August 2012 (EDT)
- Because between its repair and the Unicron battle, the Ark was never ever ever seen outside Earth's orbit. That was where it was permanently stationed. If the Autobots needed to go somewhere, they took a shuttle from there to somewhere else. --ItsWalky 15:45, 13 August 2012 (EDT)
- And we know the shuttles had interstellar range, since Grimlock took one to Hydrus Four. So Optimus Prime didn't need to relocate the Ark in order to dispatch the shuttles for the Matrix Quest. --Xaaron 16:16, 13 August 2012 (EDT)
- Apparently funeral barges have interstellar range, so I'm not worried about that. - Starfield 20:33, 13 August 2012 (EDT)

- I'm not so sure that's true. The Ark was not so far away from Pz-Zazz. I suppose that could mean the Ark was in orbit around Earth which is not so far away from Pz-Zazz, but I doubt it.- Starfield 20:33, 13 August 2012 (EDT)
- So, it wasn't necessarily the Moon, right? The Ark is mobile. I can move around. Why assume it was in Earth orbit during the Matrix quest when it never says that? - Starfield 11:58, 16 August 2012 (EDT)

Thunder Mayhem
[edit]So, should Thunder Mayhem be listed on this page? I wouldn't have brought it up normally, but Galvatronus is listed in Galvatron II's page, and this is sorta the same type of thing. Spark controls Combiner. ChristalIsMe (talk) 11:43, 31 October 2022 (EDT)
- I think Galvatronus shows up on Galvy II's page because Galvatron II's head pops out of Cyclonus's torso and talks. Thunder Mayhem isn't Thunderwing any more than most combiners -- it's six sparks combined into one consciousness. --ItsWalky (talk) 12:27, 31 October 2022 (EDT)
- The stories themselves indicate, as I recall, that Thunder Mayhem is largely controlled by Thunderwing's consciousness with the others just serving as body parts for his consciousness. However I still think they're radically different enough to be on seperate pages.
- Okay, thank you. Just checking. ChristalIsMe (talk) 11:54, 1 November 2022 (EDT)
