Doopspeak

[edit]

Anyone feel like doing the translations for the panel where Rewind says "Nirvana"? It's using a font adapted in Marvel Comics as "Doopspeak", see: http://www.uncannyxmen.net/db/article/showquestion.asp?faq=4&fldAuto=358. It's definitely words, but I translated the top right hexagon, below:

"Verminator; ffft rabbit; sharp pointy teeth; goes for the throat; run away"

Doesn't seem to be trying to canonize Alignment, or speak to the multiversity of Sideways, or anything. --Xaaron 11:44, 16 September 2013 (EDT)

If anything, it sounds like a reference to Monty Python's Holy Grail --Emvee 12:15, 16 September 2013 (EDT)

I managed to almost translate the bottom-right hexagon:
.preditron
.warlord
.not as ferocious
as his looks
.childish
._o_erate

--Inkblot 12:23, 16 September 2013 (EDT)

Going from top to bottom:

  • -on dark; -nian era; -t open
  • verminator; ff ft rabbit; sharp pointy teeth; goes for the throat; run away
  • -narok; -rld destroyer; -iterally made out -f bombs and lasers; -do not shake his hand; use extreme cau. tion
  • preditr-; warlord; not as; as his; child-; mode-
  • jloodrom; decepticon dark; -anian era; -us; -pen
  • preditron; warlord; not as ferocious as his looks; childish; moderate

There's other large text section to the bottom left, but the contrast is so poor. Mimi 12:38, 16 September 2013 (EDT)

Would "-narok" be enough to establish a character named Ragnarok? Also, could somebody double-check on "jloodrom"? Mimi 13:10, 16 September 2013 (EDT)
Bloodron, I think. -LV 14:12, 16 September 2013 (EDT)
Ah, you're right. I sure mangled that, but thank you for the suggestion. Mimi 14:25, 16 September 2013 (EDT)

@Inkblot, missing letters of "_o_erate" is m and d, so it's "moderate".--Primestar3 (talk) 14:05, 28 July 2015 (EDT)
