Talk:Toys"R"Us
Seriously? Even if I knew how to make that ridiculous ass backwards R without going into the character map, I think TRU themselves write it as "Toys"R"Us" with inexplicable quotation marks instead of apostrophes surrounding the R. That's how it's done on their website, at least. It's grammatically retarded, but it doesn't require keyboard voodoo. Hooper_X 15:10, 10 June 2009 (EDT)
- Well, redirects are easy enough. But... yeah, Toys"R"Us themselves spell it accordingly in real text whenever they don't have their fancy image logo. --ItsWalky 15:16, 10 June 2009 (EDT)
- I'm just saying it's probably better to just parse it for the wiki's sake as "Toys"R"Us" since that's a more-or-less official spelling htat's easier for Joe Editor to do off the cuff. Hooper_X 15:18, 10 June 2009 (EDT)
- I'll roll with whatever you guys say. Just as long as we reach a consensus before starting any reverting wars.--Nevermore 15:32, 10 June 2009 (EDT)
- I say Toys"R"Us. We can make ToysЯUs a redirect. -- Dark T Zeratul 15:50, 10 June 2009 (EDT)
- Definitely Toys"R"Us Esrz22 15:52, 10 June 2009 (EDT)

[edit]Walmart, Wal-Mart or "Wal*Mart"?--Nevermore 18:10, 10 June 2009 (EDT)
- Definitely not Wal*Mart, since they don't use that logo with the star anymore. -Mazenoise 18:14, 10 June 2009 (EDT)
- Looks like Walmart it is now...--Nevermore 18:22, 10 June 2009 (EDT)
- I believe currently they are Walmart*. --Monzo 18:32, 10 June 2009 (EDT)
- Wal-Mart. This is what's found on the fine print of all my training materials. I just got hired there. In addition, Walmart is how it is spelled on logos. Walmart* is if you think the star logo can be substituted for an asterisk, which I don't. Wal*Mart on the store fronts (with an actual star). My vote goes to Wal-Mart with Walmart as a redirect. --Bluestreak7 21:03, 10 June 2009 (EDT)

Prime First Edition?
[edit]Any reason why we're not listing the Transformers: Prime First Edition toys as a store exclusive for the Western market? --King Starscream 09:36, 6 November 2012 (EST)
"All Toys"R"Us stores in the US close May 28th"
[edit]Just a quick question, so I see how it says "all toys r us's closed on May 28th" on here and the page for May 28th, but I still have a few still going through their closing motions within the United States. Can I just ask where this May 28 detail came from, and how it can be worded better? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Rares (talk • contribs){{#if:| {{{2}}}|}}.
- Toys R Us was supposed to be closed by May 14th, but many didn't. My Toys R Us closed on May 28. --notirishman (talk) 22:09, 1 June 2018 (EDT)
TOC condensing
[edit]Okay, the TOC is over an entire screen long. That's... ridiculous. I'm thinking this needs some condensing. Is there any compelling reason to NOT bunch up stuff like Armada/Energon/Cybertron into a "Unicron Trilogy" header? "Movie series"? "Beast era"? "Aligned series"? The individual sub-headers would get fake headers to keep things visually organized, of course. But if we can trim a dozen or so headers out, especially as some of them are light on individual content, I think that'd help. (Also, If we can pull a picture of a real TRU to pop up top, that'd make the first-screen look less... unwelcoming.) --M Sipher (talk) 19:16, 17 January 2023 (EST)
- They don't have to be fake headers. We can make them real ones and just limit how deep the TOC displays, like on List of Japanese ID numbers. (But yes, I'm in agreement otherwise.) -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 19:36, 17 January 2023 (EST)
- PART TWO — Is there any compelling reason to NOT do these:
- Roll the "non-US western market" exclusives into the normal "western market" section and just note "Australia only" on the entry? Feels weird to jump from "west" to Japan then BACK to "west".
- Rename the western/Japanese-market headers to "Hasbro market" and "Takara market"?
- Rolling these in my head I can't think of why not, but yannow, major-like reorg, wanna be sure I'm not missing something. --M Sipher (talk) 20:58, 17 January 2023 (EST)
