Bad governments in TF is a cliche I'd like to see go away. Too often are there arrogant councils and stuffy burecrats who exist merely to be an artificial obstacle to Our Hero, adversaries that he can't actually fight and kill because they're not really enemies, just assholes. --FFN 02:49, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

Its more of a common device used in fiction when the author needs an annoying (but not actually threatening) obstacle for the hero to deal with while simultaneously making the audience emphasise with the hero because 'we've all been there before with those jerks in the government/company'. --FFN 04:00, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
