Talk:Transformers: Alternators

The "Pre-Release Development" is way too big, and contains way too many post-release items better-suited for individual character pages (and likely in the "Trivia" sections thereof). The pre-line stuff, like Jazz, Bumblebee, and Tracks all fits. But pretty much everything else is overkill. --M Sipher 00:12, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
So, uh, some anonymous editor changed all instances of Binaltech to Binal Tech: [1]. I don't think I've ever seen it spelled that way. Can somebody who pays attention to that sort of thing comment? --Steve-o 03:23, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
- While the standard logo uses exaggerated spacing, that spacing is all even. ie: "B I N A L T E C H". Secondly, the Binaltech Asterisk logo does not use the same spacing, and appears very specifically as "BINALTECH ASTERISK". Therefore we must accept that it is one word, not two (and not hypenated either). All the official printed material included with the figures that I've been through seems to represent the English-language word in upper-case, however this is within the context of a sentence. eg: "STORY OF BINALTECH", "THE TRANSFORMERS BINALTECH HOUND feat. Jeep Wrangler". From this material alone, exact capitalization is therefore unclear and it could be argued that it may be represented as "Binaltech", "BINALTECH" or "BinalTech", but certainly must not be represented as "Binal Tech" (or any similar two-word variation).
Binaltech Fiction
[edit]Where's a good overall place to put the BT fiction on Character Pages? It's either a separate heading or a subheading under the cartoon sections right now. I'm looking for some input before I run around making it uniform in the wrong place. --Xaaron 03:40, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
FOLLOW UP: Okay, no responses, so I'm going to put it as a subheading for Japanese cartoon continuity everywhere. --Xaaron 21:56, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
Another question: How do I make a generic entry note for the BinalTech fiction, like the "earthforcefiction" one we use? I was thinking something like:

Tidying Up
[edit]So as this page is very information dense but a bit scatterbrained at the moment, how would we feel about something like this layout? -AzimuthAcolyte (talk) 02:36, 9 July 2021 (EDT)
- Not hearing much in the way of pushback so I'm going for it. Feel free to revert. -AzimuthAcolyte (talk) 14:47, 9 July 2021 (EDT)
Transformers and Alternators and Word Multiple Meanings
[edit]Has anyone ever made note of how the name "Alternator" is, like "Transformer" itself, also the name of a component of an electrical device? I remember back in the '80s when The Transformers first came out, and my grandmother told me that she was, at first, very confused when my little brother and I told her that we wanted Transformers because she knew that we weren't at all interested in model trains! (A transformer being integral component of a model train set.) Anyway, my point is that a transformer is an electrical component that "transfers electrical energy from one electrical circuit to another circuit, or to multiple circuits." Likewise, an alternator is an electrical component that "converts mechanical energy to electrical energy in the form of alternating current." Has anyone ever noted this before, and does anyone know if the name "Alternator" was intentionally chosen because of this word association, making it a sort of stealth pun on the terms "Transformer" and "Alternator?" It seems to me to be far too good a play on words to have just happened unintentionally. RyokoMocha (talk) 10:39, 18 April 2023 (EDT)
