Eeeeehhhn, I think it's arguable whether the information relayed in the profile books is truly in-continuity with the comics. They refer to a "second year" that never happened, and characters that didn't have the time or space to appear within the stories as presented in the comics, not to mention they just wholesale lift stuff right out of the cartoon, like the encounter with Nemesis Prime on a barren planet, or Starscream's fondness for the humans. - Chris McFeely 09:20, 18 April 2010 (EDT)

"Micron Legend(s)" or "Legend(s) of the Microns"?

I'm seeing all four on this Wiki. Which is most accurate translation of "Micron Densetsu"? I know that "Micron Legend" is the most literal and widely used version, but I'm also seeing "Micron Legends", "Legend of the Microns" and "Legends of the Microns" being used all over. "Legend of the Microns" I have seen used in some Japanese media (can't remember where), although that's not what "Micron Densetsu" would translate to. No. But nobody is going to be capable of editing text and leaving a background like that intact. Here's another translation if you really must have confirmation. I always felt "Legends of the Microns" isn't really so much of a translation of "Micron Densetsu" but that of an interpretation (or possibly Takara's orders to Ichikawa when he wrote "Linkage"). Well, Japanese grammar wise. "Micron Densetsu" is missing the particle の "no" to fully make it "Legend of Micron", "Micron no Densetsu", traditional translation-wise; think "Zelda no Densetsu" for "Legend of Zelda". Yeah, that's what's been having me feel skeptical about the "Legends of the Microns" name; the lack of a "no" in "Micron Densetsu" doesn't make it exactly work out as "Legends of the Microns" than it does "Micron Legend". Japanese doesn't really have a way of indicating plural unless the speaker and listener already know the subject they're talking about, except using counters (certain characters/words to help indicate the number of the subject in question; counting books uses a different term compared to counting pencils). Like I said, it's probably a case of semantics, as well a bit of interpretation than actual translation (we occasionally do have to take some artistic liberties). Makes me wonder if we could ask Ichikawa whether he planned to use "Legends of the Microns" at the start or it was Takara's idea originally. --Lonegamer78 02:49, 6 February 2011 (EST)
