Talk:Transformers: Exodus
Synopsis
[edit]There's been some more info posted up about the novel. How much of it should go in here (quoted or referenced)? --Nerroth 13:14, 25 March 2010 (EDT)
- That's the exact same information that's on the Amazon link. --ItsWalky 13:17, 25 March 2010 (EDT)
- Indeed - a link which was only updated to include said synopsis today. My question still stands - how should the new information regarding the novel's plot be added to the synopsis here (as a direct quote, or a re-write)? --Nerroth 13:21, 25 March 2010 (EDT)
This has probably been discussed elsewhere, but--why are we calling this "Exodus" and not "Transformers: Exodus"? --Thylacine 2000 22:07, 24 May 2010 (EDT)
- The "Transformers:" part is routinely left of of article titles just to shorten them. It is usually used on the page itself. I'll fix that. - Starfield 22:17, 24 May 2010 (EDT)
Spoilers?
[edit]This is out in stores now, and I'm reading it. Looks like there's gonna be a LOT to add. So are we doing anytype of spoiler wait on it or should we just start adding things here and on other pages?
- Spoiler warnings, of course. Since half the fandom will be at BotCon this week, there should some waiting to give people a chance to read it.--Jimsorenson 14:25, 22 June 2010 (EDT)
G1
[edit]This comic is COMPLETELY different than than the war for cybertron storyline which is a direct prequel to G1. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 98.204.17.1 (talk • contribs){{#if:| {{{2}}}|}}.
- Yes, it is; no, it isn't; and we already know. Geewunling 15:20, 5 July 2010 (EDT)
- War for Cybertron is not a direct prequel to G1. Half Moon Studios likes to say it is, but that's because they want to sell video games. For example, they've specifically said that the video game ends right when the original cartoon begins, which is impossible on so many levels. I mean, we have the Aerialbots existing four million years before they were born! We have Jetfire as an Autobot hanging out on Cybertron when he should be encased in ice on Earth as a Decepticon! We have the entire war taking place, from Optimus becoming Prime to the Transformers leaving the planet, over a short series of interconnected levels instead of over 5 million years! "This video game takes place before the cartoon" was clearly marketing speak for the casual fan, not something that would hold up to scrutiny. (Same as their "we've never seen Cybertron before!" crap.) --ItsWalky 15:22, 5 July 2010 (EDT)
Character info box
[edit]Doesn't this article need one? --FFN 05:10, 10 July 2010 (EDT)
"Compromise"?
[edit]Okay, Alientraveller, I would kindly like to see your explanation for how it ISN'T an error to refer to "Autobot Seekers" as a plural and then say there's only one of them within the same page. --Thylacine 2000 10:28, 24 August 2010 (EDT)
- It's a written error rather than a continuity error. With the starting mention of Autobot Seekers, it uses the definition of Seeker in the novels' original term for Cybertronian fliers, in this those later defined as Aerialbots. Then it mentions Jetfire as the sole defector of the Seekers, in that case referring to them as a now Decepticon subfaction. So clumsy yes, but unlike the other errors there's a good explanation, so I'll change the heading. I also apologise for using compromise in the wrong way, because I ought to have checked if you were pleased, and as I can tell you still disagree. I also hope you're not thinking I'm trying to cover up errors or anything, I loved the novel but even I added some while dispensing with other supposed errors.
- Would this phrasing work? "All of the Seekers [as a pre-civil war air force] loyal to the Autobots were out on patrol.... The sole exception, Jetfire, the sole Seeker [as a group of Decepticon fliers] to have defected to the Autobots..." (p.204). Alientraveller 11:05, 24 August 2010 (EDT)
Sequel?
[edit]Does a "tweet" by Alex Irvine count as confirmation of the sequel to Exodus?
¡Usa El Queso! 12:25 AM, 29 March 2011 A.D.
- There's been more than a tweet thus far... thus why we already have an article for the sequel book. --Detour 00:31, 29 March 2011 (EDT)
- I was about to respong by saying that there was no mention of it on the page for Exodus, but then I saw the arrow. As you can see, sleepiness causes stupidity. I shall now bed and leave this wiki to those whose homes are still in daylight.

Compare/Contrast with WFC and others
[edit]Took me three months, but here you go (mirrored here too). Might be of some use (or least interest) to some of the Wiki users here. --Sabrblade 13:46, 31 March 2011 (EDT)
- Some of your info is vague enough to be misleeding, Characterizing G1 Shockwave based only on the Toon, When his comic portrayle was mor prominent and very different. For instance. --99.109.23.205 14:58, 31 March 2011 (EDT)
- He said in the intro that he was only using the G1 toon as he was unfamiliar with the comics. He's not misleading, you're just not paying attention. --Khajidha 17:03, 31 March 2011 (EDT)
- I am currently reading the Marvel G1 comics to better familiarize myself with them, but for now this comparison deals mostly with the cartoons. Someone suggested to me that this list should be used for Wiki purposes, so I was wondering if this list could be of any use here. --Sabrblade 23:57, 31 March 2011 (EDT)

This puzzles me...
[edit]Is it a a graphic novel or a graphic-less novel? --66.82.162.13 17:45, 30 May 2011 (EDT)
- Ordinary novel. --Khajidha 18:03, 30 May 2011 (EDT)
Just words. A real, actual novel. If it was a Graphic Novel we would have called it such.--76.28.76.206 18:13, 30 May 2011 (EDT)
Should this really be listed under the "War for Cybertron" franchise?
[edit]I'm not so sure of that, strictly because I'm not so sure of it. Where would Exiles fall under, then? --Karhukjnsi 05:25, 6 October 2011 (EDT)
- Articles are disambiguated by franchise, not continuity. There can be multiple franchises per continuity. That one portion of a continuity is disambiguated differently from another portion, despite being from the same overall story is not something rare on this wiki. --ItsWalky 11:18, 6 October 2011 (EDT)
- Ahh, sure thing, then. --Karhukjnsi 16:10, 6 October 2011 (EDT)
Page Numbers
[edit]Why are all the page number off? I my copy, the two lines about Starscream being/not being a scientist are on pages 42 and 84 for example.--Ghilz 17:21, 8 March 2012 (EST)
- Do you have the hardback? My copy was the paperback. Alientraveller 17:28, 8 March 2012 (EST)
can someone make a page for the differences between the war for cybertron and fall of cybertron game and this book?
[edit]Only reason I ask, is because if I'm gonna be honest... I actually haven't noticed the differences between the two, (espicially since I only read up to chapter 15 and then played war for cybertron as I think that's how it's canonically supposed to be.) So can someone make one? Mikey. 09:55, 18 November 2020 (EST)
