Chapter titles

[edit]

...or lack thereof, in a way. Thanks to Hydra (and a BUNCH), finally got Comic Bom Bom issues August through October 2005 to round things out. BUT there's no exact sense of chapter titles. I mean, not in the same fashion like where Henkei's chapter titles were present in both magazine and collected form. --Lonegamer78 16:51, 26 October 2009 (EDT)

Really? So the titles aren't set up in the Bom Bom printings as they were in the graphic novel collection? That's weird. So there's no "Mission #" header before each title? --Spengs (at work, can't log in)
Nada on "Mission #" header. What would be the title page (where the chapter title would obviously be), there's the obligatory short blurb like "What comes out of this combination?!" and such. August issue, it's 「神殿の獅子が--!!」, sans the Japanese quotes; September, "The Autobot base explodes! Exactly who did it?!" (although the previous page has 「"本当の仕事"とは??」 in the frame); and October has 「地球のピンチを救え! G コンボイ!!」 on what would be their chapter pages. I can't even tell if they ARE titles! At least Henkei has the "Chapter #" header like here. --Lonegamer78 18:23, 26 October 2009 (EDT)
Hm, that IS weird. Even ignoring the lack of "Mission #", they don't seem to gel with how the chapter titles were written in the first 6 installments, either (no random name shout-outs). For lack of a better option, I'd suggest using those nonsense blurbs as the article titles. You could possibly title the articles "Mission 7-9", though that might be misleading and disingenuous, on second thought. --Spengs (at work, can't log in)
For lack of any other alternatives, I'll go with "Mission 7-9" just to keep with consistency. 8B --Lonegamer78 19:24, 26 October 2009 (EDT)
Okay then. I'll alter my earlier edit and note that Missions 7-9 have no proper titles. --Spengs (at work, can't log in)
Although 「地球のピンチを救え! G コンボイ!!」 sounds perfect for chapter 9's title... *sigh* --Lonegamer78 21:25, 26 October 2009 (EDT)

Cancellation?

[edit]

Just want to get this clear in my head: the manga was cancelled in mid-flow, right? So it never got an ending? The cancellation of Bom Bom wasn't responsible, as it didn't happen until some time later? - Chris McFeely 08:37, 18 March 2010 (EDT)

Yeah, the manga was canceled in mid-flow in 2005, when the show was still on-air in Japan; Bom Bom didn't go bye-bye until 2007. It didn't quite get a proper ending, because Iwamoto never got to cover them recovering the Key at Gigantion (Metroplex and Quickmix only show up as cameos at the end of chapter 9) and the whole fight at the Black Hole. --Lonegamer78 14:27, 18 March 2010 (EDT)
Wow, it even got as far as showing cameos of the Gigantions? I didn't realize it was quite so fast-paced. But I suppose the plan was for it to be a 12-parter so that it would be done in a year. - Chris McFeely 15:23, 18 March 2010 (EDT)
