I Think the Main Summary Is Wrong
[edit]In the main summary, it stated that the matrix chooses Elita over Optimus. I think that's a misinterpretation of the events on the page.
Looking at the sequence of events, optimus stops elita's fight, opens the matrix chamber and gives it to her, and then she becomes a prime. An insert panel has the characters reacting in shock before the choice is made. That doesn't read as it choosing her over him. That read as him voluntarily stepping down as prime and giving the role to her, in order to fight for earth. The line about a leader being Chosen to me is about Optimus choosing a successor, not The Matrix choosing.
Optimus doesn't seem shocked or by The Matrix's choice he doesn't seem dismayed or hurt. --Leia G (talk) 13:40, 13 March 2026 (EDT)
- Optimus says "None can deny the will of the Matrix". Ergo, the Matrix made the choice, not him, because he falls under "none". Or at least, that's the most straightforward reading. BerylRoll (talk) 14:08, 13 March 2026 (EDT)
- Prime says the leader "must be chosen," and Ultra Magnus literally says "the Matrix has chosen" in response to Elita becoming Prime. There's no mistake here. - Chris McFeely (talk) 17:28, 13 March 2026 (EDT)
