Cartoon title translation?

The title of the cartoon is 参乗合体トランスフォーマーGo!. At first glance, it looks like Combination Cubed: Transformers Go! (Three-Power-Combination), but the 参 is confusing me. It's not the typical kanji used for "three". Is there some cultural thing behind 参 I'm not aware of? (I see it's used for the "Three Stars" constellation, but I don't know its significance in Japanese culture.) Mimi 19:51, 26 April 2013 (EDT)

参 is another way of writing the kanji for "three", and was used waaaay back when to prevent forgery issues. (For example, "一" for "one" can be easily changed to "十" for "ten" with just that extra stroke.) "Combination Cubed" is probably the closest, given that "乗" means "to the power".

Toy Alignments and Naming

Two questions: 1) I realized when I added "Go" (the promotional Arms Micron - I followed the convention of spelling their names similar to how we've spelled the names they're derived from, hence "Ex", "Go", and "Shou") that there's already a "Go" page for the game Go. So I figured I'd add a continuity tag... But it seems like the page is split between things tagged "WFC" and things tagged "Prime"... I've probably missed some discussion on this somewhere - can anyone explain when we tag things one way and when we tag them the other? Doesn't ALL the Prime stuff technically exist in the same continuity as WFC? If not, should this be tagged "Go!", since we're sort of treating Go! as a divergent continuity from Prime?

2) Kurojishi Gekisoumaru and Kuromusha Kenzan are listed here with numerical designations (G01-B and G05-B). Well, Kurojishi Gekisoumaru is officially out... And his box has no number on it. We go by the franchise they first appeared in, so Arcee is (WFC) because she was first in the game, and Bulkhead is (Prime) because his first appearance was in the show. Characters introduced in Go! would have a (Go!) disambiguation. --abates (talk) 00:09, 10 November 2013 (EST)

I put those ID numbers in for the Kuro redecos because I saw a listing somewhere that had them included. But if the final products are number-less, let's remove them from here.

And, yeah, a "(Go!)" disambiguation tag is likely what we'd use for characters originating from this series. Though, the Arms Micron page has his name listed as "Goh" (courtesy of M Sipher). Sounds good. Incidentally... According to Snakas, Shou and Go have already begun distribution in some places. The assumption is that Ex will start being released on the 16th when Kuromusha Kenzan is released...
