...should this really be a Movie-only page? Or it should at least be named differently somehow, considering the various other sets of twins in TF. --Jeysie 20:51, 22 May 2009 (EDT)
- Indeed. There's G1 Sunstreaker/Sideswipe, Animated Jetfire & Jetstorm and even Optimus Prime & Ultra Magnus in some continuities. And that's just the obvious ones I can think of at coming-up-for-three-in-the-morning. - SanityOrMadness 21:39, 22 May 2009 (EDT)
- The concept as it is in the Movie continuity is unique as far as I know. Was "twin" ever used to describe those, or just "brother"? "Twin" wasn't really defined anywhere so I thought it was up for grabs, but my knowledge on such things is far from exhaustive. - Starfield 22:53, 22 May 2009 (EDT)
- Off the top of my head, Jetstorm and Jetfire are referred to specifically as twins in Rise of Safeguard, and Sunstreaker and Sideswipe are referred to as twins in both the Universe and MTMTE character guides (and probably a number of other places too).
- The exact explanation of twin-ness used in the movie may or may not be unique to it, but the mere concept isn't. --Jeysie 22:58, 22 May 2009 (EDT)

Is there really any reason why this shouldn't be merged with the article Relatives? -Mazenoise 04:50, 23 May 2009 (EDT)
- Twin in the Movieverse is special, almost like a special ability shared by two Transformers. It is unique. - Starfield 12:00, 23 May 2009 (EDT)
"Fraternal" Twins
[edit]From the way the text is written, Sunstreaker and Sideswipe sound more like identical twins, not fraternal ones. Unless the book specifically states "fraternal", in which case I'll just shut up and cry in the corner :( Magaroja 11:10, 12 June 2009 (EDT)
- I second your objection. Can somebody verify if the term fraternal was used, 'cause that write up screams identical twins to this biology teacher. Khajidha 11:36, 11 November 2009 (EST)
- The relevant part seems to be: "[spark splits text], causing several related beings to be created, such as the Autobot brothers Sideswipe and Sunstreaker. [...] Cloning technology differs from normal Transformer creation in that it is specifically designed to create two or more beings that are identitical in some respect, be it robot or altenate mode." Geewunling 12:01, 11 November 2009 (EST)
- Sunstreaker's Universe bio. I'll add the citation. They were probably called fraternal twins because they don't look alike. The MTMTE description sounds like identical, but who knows if a spark splitting is the same as human biology? - Starfield 12:39, 11 November 2009 (EST)
Category?
[edit]With as many as there are now, do twins warrant their own category?--Carrion 03:37, 25 March 2012 (EDT)
