"The DVDs were also published in boxes, sometimes as one "starter" box with 3 DVDs, sometimes with 3 boxes (instead of 4) with 2 DVDs. Confusing!" Could someone clarify this? --Khajidha (talk) 18:21, 24 July 2022 (EDT)

I did not know how to explain that, forgive me. Let me try to clarify: these DVDs could first be found almost anywhere, most of the time sold separately. But when all the collection got released, they started making boxes. A "starter" box exists, including the first 3 DVDs of the collection. Then they made a new release, 3 boxes of 2 DVD, which is unlucky because they created 8 DVD and not 6... If that's still not clear, I could send you photos of them on Discord, I think I have all the different versions! --SoundSky (talk) 08:58, 25 July 2022 (EDT)
When you say that the starter box had 3 DVDs and that the other boxes had 2 DVDs, were these just the existing DVDs bundled together or did the discs have unique mixes of episodes? Were the DVDs in each box of 2 DVDs always the same pair? That is, was it always Discs 1 & 2 in one set, 3 & 4 in another, and 5 & 6 in the third? Or were they more random? Some 1 & 2, some 1 & 5, etc? And the same question for the three discs in the starter set: always 1, 2, & 3? Or sometimes things like 2, 5, & 8? (Note that I'm just using the numbers as placeholders for convenience.). --Khajidha (talk) 10:52, 25 July 2022 (EDT)
It's a big mess, unfortunately. I looked for my collection, I'll tell you what I have, maybe it will be more clear (I'll keep the numbers for convenience too, let's say 1 is the first released and 8 is the last one released) - I put images from Internet so you can see what I'm talking about;
  • I have all the 8 different DVDs individually
  • I have a 3 DVD box with DVDs 2, 5 and 7 (another box exists with DVDs 1, 3 and 8 but I don't have it)
  • I have 3 DVD boxes they call "Volumes"
    • "Volume 1", with DVDs 1 and 4
    • "Volume 2", with DVDs 3 and 5
    • "Volume 3", with DVDs 6 and 7 (this one also exists as a "collector version" with a figure of Movie Optimus Prime but I don't know which one, maybe we should add it too here).
I've seen one with DVDs 2 and 8 but the visual is slightly different and it doesn't sport any "Volume" number... --SoundSky (talk) 11:59, 25 July 2022 (EDT)
Okay. Now it's making sense. I'll rewrite all this when I get home this afternoon. Thank you for all the work finding these. --Khajidha (talk) 12:45, 25 July 2022 (EDT)
Sorry, I forgot to get back to this yesterday but I think I've integrated all the information now. If you have pictures of the box sets, those would be nice to have, too. --Khajidha (talk) 15:10, 26 July 2022 (EDT)
No problem! I'll try to find good pictures on the Internet, if there is not I'll take time to scan my boxes. Thank you very much for your help on this! --SoundSky (talk) 18:36, 26 July 2022 (EDT)
Happy to help. You are adding a lot fof good material from a very overlooked part of the brand.--Khajidha (talk) 18:40, 26 July 2022 (EDT)
I added the pictures, and tried to make that clear! However, I remarked the name Kappa Editions on the 2 DVD boxes and I made some research. I discovered the tragic story of UFG and why they released the same discs with the same cover, same barcode number, changing only the brand! --SoundSky (talk) 20:07, 26 July 2022 (EDT)
"Le Cosmitron / L'Attaque des Autobots (2 disc box, 2003)" Are you sure about that date? L'Attaque des Autobots is listed as being separately released only in 2007. Was it produced just for the box set in 2003? --Khajidha (talk) 11:40, 27 July 2022 (EDT)
Something seems wrong indeed. Unless they released the "solo" DVDs later? I do not know, I'll investigate tonight. My DVD of "Attack of the Autobots" is the Kappa Editions version so I can read 2011 on it but I have to find the original UFG version date. --SoundSky (talk) 11:52, 27 July 2022 (EDT)
