Talk:Vollet

I hesitate to put this forth after today's problem with Jan Mina(mi)kaze, but...this guy isn't supposed to be called Bullet. Then again, I suppose if we're willing to go with "Deathsaurus", this is even less of a stretch. Still...--Apcog 22:33, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

So what is he, then? I mean, "Zetca" is made-up, but at least we have a source for it so we know what they were going for. (And Deathsaurs IS his o-ficcial English-language name, Trademarked and all...) --M Sipher 23:15, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
Good to know we've got some sort of official backing for Deathsaurus, then. I'd forgotten about the BotCon exclusive. Wonder if it caused as much flap as "Leo Prime"? :-)
Anyway, I don't believe Fumihiko-san ever clarified what "Bollett" was supposed to mean. Frankly, I was surprised there was an explanation for "Zetca". Perhaps it's a Rhinox/Saidos thing—a purposeful misspelling. I'll see if he can venture a guess, but no guarantees.--Apcog 23:33, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
This ATT post contains my oddessey to figure out Bullet's name, although I'm not sure if all of the links in it still work... --Monzo 00:09, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
Excellent research as usual. Still not as conclusive as I'd like, considering the aberrant matching of "bullet" with the "boretto" kana spelling, but it seems that's about as definitive as we're going to get for now. Complicating things a wee bit is that the various pages on Zinc Panic relating to the Harlock craft spell the word "Vollet" despite the labels on the toys. --Apcog 00:46, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

I think I'll just let Monzo write the section on the page explaining his goddamn name. --M Sipher 01:09, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

Move

[edit]

14 years later, but I think this page should be moved to "Vollet" to reflect its likely origins as a made-up term that Takara cribbed from another toyline like "Zetca". Saix (talk) 18:57, 8 January 2021 (EST)

Should we change the "graze me" caption, since it no longer makes sense (as it was play on "bullet graze")? --Khajidha (talk) 19:36, 6 September 2021 (EDT)
