[edit]This feels really hard to read. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 21:50, 3 August 2022 (EDT)
- I actually find it easier to read than the previous version. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 00:44, 4 August 2022 (EDT)
- The previous version was like two sentences and three bullet points. Now it looks like a giant block of awkwardly-written text with slashes in the middle of sentences. The feels like a perfect example of sacrificing readability for The Joke. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 13:13, 4 August 2022 (EDT)
- Agree to disagree. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 13:25, 4 August 2022 (EDT)
- This is exactly what I was annoyed about on the main Wheelie talk page; us brushing off the concerns of other editors and readers in order to preserve a joke. I don't thing "agree to disagree" is the right response for this sort of situation. Escargon (talk) 13:27, 4 August 2022 (EDT)
- Aside from that excellent point, this is also getting into the area of "can we please hold off on yet another ______ joke?". --Khajidha (talk) 13:47, 4 August 2022 (EDT)
- The existence of a second rhyming Wheelie page after this wiki had already been noted for the first one seems to edge uncomfortably close to "the SG authors were trying to game our system." Since it's Shattered Glass, maybe the really funny joke would be to not rhyme. And, uh, be much easier to read. --Thylacine 2000 (talk) 15:50, 4 August 2022 (EDT)
- Yeah, he's from the Opposite-Day Universe. Even if he spoke in poetry, we should write him in prose. --Thylacine 2000 (talk) 15:52, 4 August 2022 (EDT)
- Just chipping in to say he definitely rhymes—or at least, it takes a deliberate misread of Sky Lynx's profile to entertain the possibility he doesn't. The Joke of SG Wheelie is that, rather than being a tiny cheerful survivalist, he's a giant brutal barbarian. This is just an extension of our main Wheelie coverage, so it's subject to the same policy. —The Wadapan (talk) 06:26, 5 August 2022 (EDT)
- When did we put forward slashes in the middle of every line in the main Wheelie page? That just takes the readability problems and seriously exacerbates them. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 12:32, 5 August 2022 (EDT)
- Actually, slashes are standard grammar when quoting lines of poetry. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 13:05, 5 August 2022 (EDT)
- This does nothing to actually address the main component of Dark T Zeratul's problem: that the complex information is impossible to do in rhyme and that what we have now is borderline nonsensical, which is exactly what I said would happen on G1 Wheelie's page. Escargon (talk) 07:49, 17 August 2022 (EDT)
- Thank you, that is precisely my point. The recent overhaul completely sacrifices clearly presenting accurate information in favor of whatever phrasing can be forced into rhyming couplets, to the detriment of anyone actually trying to understand what the page is saying about SG Wheelie. Especially since, unlike the main Wheelie page, we can actually see what it looked like before the overhaul and do a direct comparison.
- I will also note that we're not "quoting lines of poetry." What we have is poetry, which should not itself by written this way. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 15:35, 23 August 2022 (EDT)

I see nothing wrong with the page overhaul. If SG Wheelie speaks like this, better a revamp than no rhyme at all. McBaggins (talk) 16:08, 4 August 2022 (EDT)
- Hard disagree, there. The way it's currently written awkwardly breaks up sentences across multiple lines, with slashes in the middle of everything that force the reader out of what they're reading (including in the reference text, which isn't even written in verse). This is a page that takes *effort* to read, and that's not conducive to conveying information. I swear, I read the Notes section three times and barely understood what it was trying to say. The previous version was split into three bullet points and formatted like normal sentences, so that even if you ignore the rhymes it still reads just fine and was much more clear, to boot. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 16:30, 4 August 2022 (EDT)
So how come the small
page for the SG guy is
getting the discourse
McBaggins (talk) 20:44, 4 August 2022 (EDT)
- In my case, it's because this was a recent overhaul of the page that I just happened to notice in the recent changes, and I felt said overhaul significantly reduced the readability of the article (as a minor note, somewhat triggered by your formatting there, in edit mode the entire notes section is a giant wall of text with <br> tags, multiple comments and nary a line break in sight... which means the page is just as hard to edit as it is to read). -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 23:20, 4 August 2022 (EDT)
Anyway, since apparently we don't care what our own editors have to say, I added the original note in its readable form to my sandbox here: 1. Escargon (talk) 09:25, 2 October 2022 (EDT)
- Yeah, doesn't feel good that there has been literally zero response at all to "this page is utterly incomprehensible," with most of the replies just essentially being, "if SG Wheelie speaks in rhyme, then we are resigned to letting this page be shitty and hard to read" as though we don't have the ability to just, y'know, not do that. This isn't even a case where it would require a difficult overhaul of the entire page like the normal Wheelie. We can fix it with a single revert, to a version that still rhymes but actually presents the information in a way that's clear and easy to parse. I cannot fathom why we are shackling ourselves to the abysmal current format of the page. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 15:55, 7 October 2022 (EDT)
- Hardly abysmal. The page reads fine. TimeLord11 (talk) 18:45, 7 October 2022 (EDT)
- The Wadapan's recent revision improved the clarity tremendously, and Cyberlink removing the slashes was also a big help. The previous iteration was exactly as I said. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 18:55, 7 October 2022 (EDT)
- Nah. It read just as easily. TimeLord11 (talk) 20:34, 7 October 2022 (EDT)
- Enough. It's over. Everyone's happy. Just leave it be and move on. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 20:37, 7 October 2022 (EDT)
