Taxxon
Taxxons are big ugly cannibalistic centipede-things that hail from the planet Taxxos. They serve as the Yeerks' dutiful slaves. Though the Taxxons have always been dangerous, they have become doubly so ever since Visser Three managed to duplicate the Andalites' morphing technology. His Taxxon troops are now endowed with the ability to assume the form of a ferocious alien creature from a distant planet.

Toys
[edit]Animorphs
[edit]
- Taxxon/Alien (Deluxe)
- Accessories: Yeerk slug
- One of the last Animorphs toys, the Taxxon transforms from an alien centipede-thing into a bipedal alien. The figure is quite large and hefty for a deluxe scale toy. Most of its heft comes from its gear driven "crawling legs" gimmick similar to Robots in Disguise Megatron Megabolt or Generation 1 Scorponok. Its head has a button activated spring-loaded lunge attack. Like all Animorphs Deluxe figures, the toy is packaged with a Yeerk slug.
- Unlike all the other toys in the series, the "alien" morph bears no resemblance to any alien species alluded to in the books or television show.
- Although it was planned, this toy was never released in the United States and only saw limited distribution in Europe. Because its planned release would have been near the end of the line, this led to a popular perception that it was never released at all. Despite this, there are multiple documented variants of the figure—aside from the differently colored Yeerk slugs (which came alternatively in red, orange, or purple), there was also the standard packaging variation Hasbro used in Europe at the time: Trilingual English, Spanish and Italian, or French, Dutch and German.
Notes
[edit]
- The bipedal alien species that the Taxxon gain the ability to morph into is never given a proper designation. While all other alien species portrayed in this franchise were given a specific name, this species is simply referred to with the generic term of "alien".
