Improvement suggestions

[edit]

I like the idea of this template and want to use it, but I have some suggestions for it to be more effective.

  • Number-definitions. I propose:
    • "0" = July 2008 version.
    • "1" = Restored from a cached version, but could use a run through an HTML-to-wikicode converter.
    • "2" = Restored from a cached version and run through a convertor, but still contains visible HTML-garble that needs to be hand-cleaned.
    • "3" = No visible HTML-garbling, but still has formatting/content weirdness that affects the article's appearance.
    • "4" = Page looks great but needs code-cleanup at the editing level.
  • An input for a comment. For example, if I set it to level 3 or 4, I'd like to be able to add a note explaining what I think still needs work.
  • Clearer primary text. "NARM'd" and "virus" are confusing to the average reader/editor (and we need all the help we can get right now). Something more like... "This page's repair-status is [number]. [Definition of number]. Feel free to help us restore it!"

If anyone else has any thoughts on the matter, please share. I this this template has a lot of promise in helping sort out the entire recovery process. - Jackpot 20:14, 23 March 2009 (EDT)
