Falling for a Decepticon trap, the Autobots create a formidable foe.
Synopsis
[edit]While exploring an ancient ruin, Bound Rogue comes across the Copy Machine, and is subsequently amazed when he uses it to duplicate a local rocky mountain. Realizing he can also use it to duplicate his fellow Autobot warriors, Bound Rogue rushes to the Autobot base with the machine in tow, where he meets Lio Convoy. After a bit of talk, the lion agrees to try duplicating himself.
Unbeknownst to the Autobot forces, the Copy Machine is in actuality a trap engineered by Starscream—resulting copy lifeforms are programmed to hate their originals, fighting against them with all of their might. Foolishly, Bound Rogue uses the Copy Machine on Lio Convoy and the savage Lio Convoy Black Version enters the world...

Notes
[edit]- This story is a short blurb included in the November 2005 issue of Dengeki Hobby to promote their exclusive Robotmasters mailaway "Lio Convoy Limited Black Version". A previous set of Robotmasters black redecos had their own unrelated story provided in pack-in pamphlets.
- This story takes much cues from the last story featuring an evil black-colored copy of Lio Convoy, "The Black Lio Convoy". It leans knowingly onto that, replacing Tasmania Kid with his moldmate Bound Rogue, and Starscream with, well, Starscream.
- From a strict continuity perspective, this story indicates "Lio Convoy Black Version" is a different character to "Copy Convoy" in "The Black Lio Convoy" and that Lio Convoy encountered an evil clone-making Copy Machine (perhaps even the same one) twice. However, whether this blurb is considered part of the greater Japanese Generation 1 canon is unclear.
