Between his lightning whip and his electricity-firing thunderbolt laser pistol, Cloudburst pretty much has the whole electric weapon thing covered.

How a laser pistol shoots electric blasts is unclear, but it may have something to do with ionization pathways.

Cloudburst came with a red weapon, identified as a thunderbolt laser pistol in his instructions and packaging bio, that he could wield in all three modes. This toy was released without changes as Super-God Masterforce Pretender Phoenix, where the thunderbolt laser pistol was repurposed as Phoenix's wave blaster.

• Cloudburst's Dreamwave More than Meets the Eye profile refers to Cloudburst's weapon as a thunderbolt cannon, possibly because laser beams aren't composed of electricity.
• Both Cloudburst's packaging bio and More than Meets the Eye profile imply that this weapon functions as a particle beam cannon when he is in space cruiser mode.
