Torsion is a Maladroid from the Beast Wars: Uprising portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Torsion is a crewmember aboard the Terrastar. They sound raspy, and not very respectful of Lockjaw's authority.

Fiction

Beast Wars: Uprising

Torsion was one of a group of Maladroids who stole the Terrastar, and made a break for the nearest galaxy, in defiance of the Convoy Council's edicts. During the flight, Torsion did not occupy any role on the bridge crew, instead just floating about. When the ship arrived at the Triangulum Galaxy, it became clear they'd been followed by some Commandrons. Torsion asked "captain" Lockjaw what their plan was. Said plan was hide, rather than fight, but the idea became moot when the Skriix showed up and made it clear they wanted both parties dead and gone. As a result, the Terrastar got shot down onto a nearby blue-green planet. The Inexorable March

Notes

• Torsion's gender goes unspecified in the story.
• The narration notes Torsion is floating, but doesn't specify if this is an ability of Torsion's, or if they're using some sort of hovering device like the Predacons of Beast Wars used on their ship.
• Also, since Torsion isn't at any station, it's unclear what their job among the Maladroid crew is. It's probably hopeless schmuck.
