Toshiyuki Takahashi

Toshiyuki Takahashi (高橋 利幸 Takahashi Toshiyuki, b. May 23, 1959) is a Japanese voice actor, singer, video game expert, and former executive for software company Hudson Soft. He earned the nickname "Meijin Takahashi" for his incredible video game-playing skills, such that at his prime he could hit the "fire" button as fast as 16 times per second. This made him a legend in the world of video gaming, with several characters being based on him, most notably Adventure Island's Takahashi Meijin/Master Higgins. Takahashi's desire to reduce the stress on his fingers while demonstrating games at events would eventually lead to him helping create the "turbo button", which has since become a staple of third-party game controllers everywhere. Takahashi later retired from Hudson in 2011, though he continues to appear in promotional and representative capacities for various games-related organizations to this day.
Outside of video games, he is known as the voice of Takanohashi in Btooom!, another character based on himself.
