Toys

[edit]

The Transformers

[edit]
Calcar
Sold individually in the ninth and final year of the original European/Australasian-market Transformers toyline (which used the packaging style and new faction symbols used in Generation 2 despite not being part of Generation 2), the Trakkons' (and Lightformers') primary gimmick is having huge gun platforms, nearly the size of the robots themselves, that can be mounted on the figures in vehicle mode or manned in robot mode. These platforms used a combination of light-piping and gear-driven shutters to simulate two beams of laser fire striking your target if you look through their targeting scopes (even if the toy only has a single gun on one side), while simultaneously making the gun barrel(s) move.

Generation 2

[edit]
  • Calcar (Trakkon, 1994)
  • Fearswoop (Trakkon, 1994)
The Trakkons were again available as part of the Generation 2 toyline a year later. The toys themselves were identical to their earlier versions, but were now packaged on Generation 2-themed blister cards instead of in Generation 1 boxes.
