Space Case wakes up on the wrong side of the earth's surface and takes it out on an Autobot search party.

Synopsis

Space Case dreams of flying. In his dreams, nobody can touch him and, more importantly, none of the other Decepticons can make fun of him for being stupid. His reverie is interrupted by an earthquake which jolts him awake and provides him with the opportunity to free himself.

Meanwhile, Arcee and Bumblebee are pulled away from a picnic with their friend Sam Witwicky to investigate an energy signal that appeared after the earthquake. The trio proceed deep underground and, just as Arcee is admonishing Sam to be careful, Space Case ambushes them. Despite their numeric superiority, the Autobots have trouble with their enemy because they are afraid firing weapons might cause their unstable surroundings to collapse.

Space Case, angry at what he perceives as persecution from the Autobots, activates his plasma afterburners and rockets out of the cave, triggering the feared cave-in and burying Sam and the Autobots. A short distance away, he congratulates himself on his clever escape and looks forward to getting to fly again.

  • Space Case is a quasi-sympathetic figure in this story, whose acute sense of his own perceived inferiority drives him to hostility toward everyone and everything, despite the fact that the Autobots neither mock nor attack him.
