The opening of a new training facility at N.E.S.T. Command is attacked by a Decepticon airstrike.

Synopsis

On the morning of June 20, 2013, a large crowd of new N.E.S.T. recruits (including you) gathers to await the grand opening of a new training facility at N.E.S.T. Command. The emcee of the event, a young man named Brad, welcomes a small parade of individuals belonging to the five branches of the United States Armed Forces, honoring their service. He then gets the crowd excited before receiving word that a N.E.S.T. convoy is on its way. Once it arrives, N.E.S.T. Commander General Glenn Morshower approaches the stage, surrounded by N.E.S.T. soldiers. Taking the podium, Morshower welcomes the new recruits and gives a brief speech about the Autobots being humanity's allies in defeating the Decepticon incursion. He and Brad then introduce the two Autobots who have come here to join in this ceremony, Bumblebee and Optimus Prime. The two drive up and, speaking through his vehicle mode, Optimus greets the recruits and encourages them to help in defending mankind against Megatron.

Morshower is pleased to see the two Autobots and hopes to continue working alongside them. He then proudly states that the new training facility will bring about new special force devoted to protecting the planet Earth. But then, a transmission from Megatron suddenly appears on the nearby presentation screen, declaring certain doom for the humans. A Decepticon airstrike begins raining down fire upon the surrounding area. Morshower orders Optimus and Bumblebee to engage, while also ordering a N.E.S.T. strike team to protect the new recruits. Armed soldiers scramble as more explosions let loose on the nearby buildings.

High in the sky above, the Black Diamond Jet Team is deployed and soars overhead. N.E.S.T. Command radios Black Diamond with orders to engage. The squadron acquires targets on such Decepticons as Bonecrusher, Rampage, and Soundwave, locking onto them and initiating an attack run. Anti-aircraft fire lets loose from the ground base upward as Black Diamond continues their retaliation. As further radio correspondence between the Black Diamond pilots is heard over the sound of battle, Morshower gives radio confirmation for an air-to-air strike, with N.E.S.T. Command as the Decepticons' target.

As silence soon falls in the aftermath of the battle, Black Diamond radios in, confirming the Decepticon threat neutralized. With N.E.S.T. Command secure, Morshower congratulates everyone for sending the Decepticons in retreat. Brad then announces a special treat for everyone with the Black Diamond Jet Team. Optimus and Bumblebee return and are thanked by Morshower for their courageous efforts. Optimus commends the new recruits for their own bravery and wishes them well in their training at the facility. N.E.S.T. Command then radios in requesting clearance for Black Diamond to begin Operation: Golf-Oscar-Foxtrot. Morshower gives the word and Brad excites the crowd to begin their training as the newest recruits of N.E.S.T.

Overhead, celebratory fireworks ignite and the Black Diamond Jet Team does a ceremonial flyover in V formation; everyone on the ground cheers at the spectacle. To close out the ceremony, Brad announces that the new training facility, Transformers: The Ride – 3D, is officially open! As the recruits make their way into the facility to begin their training, saluted by Morshower along the way, the Black Diamond Jet Team circles around for another formation flyover. Optimus and Bumblebee silently stick around for a bit before eventually rolling out, escorted away by a team of N.E.S.T. soldiers.

  • The cast:
  • In addition, three of the five Black Diamond pilots are identifiable by their callsign: "Rook" A.K.A. Jared Isaacman, "Buick" A.K.A. Commander Mike Eberhardt, USN (ret.), and "Snort" A.K.A. Captain Dale Snodgrass, USN (ret.). It is not known for certain whose voice was the squadron leader, but it would make sense to have been the Team Leader, Lt. Colonel Jerry "Jive" Kerby, USAF (ret.). The fifth pilot's identity is not known.
  • Also in attendance of this event were Peter Cullen and Frank Welker in person, Steven Spielberg, Mark Woodbury (President of Universal Creative), Tom Williams (Chairman and CEO of Universal Parks and Resorts) Bill Davis (President and CEO of Universal Orlando Resort), Bryony Bouyer (Senior Vice President of Global Promotions & Marketing at Hasbro), and the park's walkaround characters of Optimus and Bumblebee, who all walked down the red carpet beforehand (well, Bumblebee danced down the carpet).[1][2]
  • During the live scripted presentation, Optimus and Bumblebee are physically portrayed by their onscreen vehicles seen in Transformers: Dark of the Moon, while Megatron only appears as a CG animated figure on the nearby presentation screen, with new footage of him created for just this occasion.
