Transformers RPMs: Devastator's Demise
Transformers RPMs: Devastator's Demise is a video game on Hasbro's website. It is based on the Robot Powered Machines line, and more prominently on the "Devastator Showdown" set.
Synopsis
[edit]Devastator is on a rampage through Cairo, and it's up to three Autobots (Ironhide, Optimus Prime, and Bumblebee) to stop him. They must maneuver several obstacles and gather energon before finally reaching the Devastator, who looms over them. Defeating Devastator brings the mission to an end.
Gameplay
[edit]The gameplay is quite simple: use the arrow keys (and in some instances, the space bar) to control your movements. The game is split into several parts:
- Right turn: use the right arrow key to make a sharp right turn.
- Avoid the Rocks: use the left arrow key to avoid the rocks.
- U-turn: use the up and down arrow (in that order) to make a u-turn.
- Vortex Grinder: mash the button shown onscreen to break out of Devasatator's grip.
- Crosshairs: press the spacebar when the crosshairs align (wait for them to align; they don't separate once they do).
- Boulder smash: use the right arrow key in order to avoid the boulder.
- Falling rocks: use the right arrow key to evade the falling rocks.
- Remove the rubble: mash the button shown onscreen to either smash through (Ironhide or Optimus) or go upside-down over (Bumblebee) the rock in front of you.
- Evade the debris: arguably the most difficult challenge, you must press the buttons in the order shown on the screen as the highlight passes the icons.
- Nearly every stunt you perform will earn you Energon, which you can use for one final mission:
- Shoot the Devastator: use the energon you have gained to shoot Devastator in the face.

Notes

- Ironhide, Bumblebee and Optimus display some random abilities not seen anywhere else in this game:
- All three can fire missiles from (what appears to be) their headlights while in vehicle mode.
- Although Bumblebee had demonstrated the ability to tilt sideways while driving, all three Autobots have a near-absurd amount of maneuverability in vehicle mode, including jumping straight up from a horizontal plane!
- The Autobots seem to be based on their RPMs toys quite literally: when we see the underside of their vehicle mode, the sculpted-in representation of their robot mode is visible!
