Gameplay

[edit]

In Hidden Pictures, the player, directly addressed as Cadet, is tasked with finding objects hidden within edited screenshots from Rescue Bots episodes.

There are five different variations on each level, known as missions. The game refers to these as Core, Reading, Number, Shape and Lights Out missions. Core missions are the most basic version of the level, where the player finds several different items by scrolling around and tapping on them. Reading provides the list of items as a word list, which is read aloud once collected. Number missions are the most different, involving finding several of the same object, which are counted when collected. Shape missions make the objects in the list into silhouettes so that the player must find them based on their shape. Lights Out missions are similar to Core missions, but the player has to use a flashlight to reveal a small part of the image at a time.

In all modes, there is a hint button that pans the camera over to one of the uncollected items and causes it to move, showing its location.

[edit]

Levels are sorted based on a primary character, and are named based on the episode the screenshot is taken from. Each character has five levels each.

Notes

[edit]
  • The first set of missions, Family of Heroes, is freely available. Further content is locked behind a paywall. A preview of Under Pressure's core mission is also available in the tutorial, but can not be replayed without paying.
  • Despite Bumblebee not having his own set of levels, or really appearing in much of any significant capacity, he is placed prominently on the title screen with the five characters who do.
