About me
[edit]My name is Anon e Mouse Jr., and I'm a Transformers fan who didn't get to really watch the series until early Beast Wars, but have been following it ever since. My favorites are the Beast Era in general, and from G1, Super-God Masterforce. (The concept of the Godmasters and other humans who can become Transformers just really interests me.)
Of the various Transformers fan works, I most enjoy the Insecticomics (I freely admit that at least part of the "Transformers toys I want" list below resulted from way too many hours of reading that webcomic and finding their cast interesting; related, I also kind of want a pair of Dalek figures, identical to the pair that appear in that series) and the works of Kenyastarflight.
The Transformers toys I want
[edit]My general rule for this list can be summed up as "BBC: Blue, Beasts or Combiners". (Or some combination thereof.) There are a few exceptions to that rule, however. (Most of whom are from the Transformers: Cybertron toyline. It's entirely the Cyber Keys' fault; I kind of like the gimmick and want a full set of the keys.)
I also like some of the old gimmicks from G1, like Headmasters and Powermasters/Godmasters, and the Japanese take on the Pretenders, wherein they disguised themselves as normal humans to blend in among the civilian populace before summoning armor and then reverting to robot mode, rather than using the "outer shells" concept. (Not that that concept is bad, I just like the "henshin hero" style better.)
Note that the list is prone to expansion if I'm in the mood. (And yes, I'm aware it's already at close to a hundred. I still like them.)
- Bombshell - You can blame Wayward and the Insecticomics for this one. (Insecticons rock!)
- G1 Constructicons - The very first combiner team in the franchise.
- Gnaw - One of those rare beast-type Transformers from G1. Also, he's a shark! (Or at least from a species named for one.)
- Kickback - You can blame Wayward and the Insecticomics for this one. (Insecticons rock!)
- Seacons - Six sea creatures turn into one massive robot warrior! (It doesn't hurt that I've encountered a couple of these toys before I knew who they were.)
- G1 Predacons - The other main beast-type combiner team from this era. (Aside from Monstructor, whose components aren't real beasts. They're monsters.)
- Shrapnel - You can blame Wayward and the Insecticomics for this one. (Insecticons rock!)
- Sky Lynx - Sky Lynx is one of those odder characters, and I just couldn't resist.
- Trypticon - Cityformer. I've encountered this toy as well (or at least a version of it) without knowing who he was at the time. And I'm still interested in getting one.
Also, if anyone here is a kitbasher who can get their hands on a G1 Scorponok and a G1 Black Zarak, then repaint certain accessories from Scorponok to gold (in order to match their BZ counterparts), contact me. The only reason he's NOT on the above list is because of the risk of Gold Plastic Syndrome.
Ditto for Kakuryu and Slog: I want a Slog figure (including his shell) that won't suffer from GPS. (As with many of these toys, you can blame Wayward and her Insecticomics for really introducing him to me as a character.)
- Airazor - in her original form. (This is from the "combiner" aspect of my requirements. Even if she doesn't combine in the standard way.)
- Transmetal Airazor - does this one really need explaining?
- Air Hammer - he's part shark, and I like sharks.
- Armordillo - I also like armadillos.
- Cybershark - the original version, not his Transmetal 2 upgrade (I already own that mold).
- Depth Charge - another sea creature.
- Drill Bit - I remember playing with a toy of this guy at camp one year. It's been a long time, but I still remember him fondly.
- Lazorbeak - Blame Wayward for this one; the character is one of the main cast of the Insecticomics.
- Magnaboss - one of the two Beast Wars combiner teams.
- Toys R Us 10th Anniversary Megatron - not the one with the Cyber Planet Key, but the retooled edition of the original Ultra-class toy. Comes packaged with a similarly retooled Ultra-class Optimus Primal. (And yes, I want both Megatron and Optimus Primal.)
- Beast Wars 10th Anniversary Megatron - THIS is the one with the Cyber Planet Key, and a miniature replica of the Darksyde.
- Onyx Primal - I'm not sure why I originally added Onyx Primal to this list. But he's on here.
- Beast Wars 10th Anniversary Optimus Primal - the counterpart to the second Megatron toy on this list. Includes a Cyber Planet Key, a hoverboard and a miniature replica of the Axalon.
- Packrat - He's a blue rat, and therefore fits two of my main criteria from the BBC list.
- Walmart Rattrap - AKA Transmetal Packrat.
- Quickstrike - the Fuzor. (Features heavily in the Insecticomics.)
- Silverbolt - the Fuzor, and easily one of the best designs of his type.
- Terrorsaur - regular version. (Again: features heavily in the Insecticomics.)
- Tigatron - the original Cheetor repaint. (This is from the "combiner" aspect of my requirements. Even if he doesn't combine in the standard way...)
- Tigerhawk - the Vok emissary, created by fusing Tigatron and Airazor.
- Transmutate - created from a badly damaged protoform, this character finally saw release in six pieces. I'm not interested in the figures those pieces came with. I just want Transmutate herself.
- Waspinator - this figure might be the exception to the "original colorings" rule. This is the 2006 edition of the toy, mostly because I prefer his paintjob.
- Transmetal Waspinator - this is the original edition of the toy, not the yellow Fox Kids repaint. (That version can easily be used to portray a Transmetal version of Buzz Saw though.)
- Battle Unicorn - one of the few equine Transformers, and a better design than Mach Kick, in my opinion, simply because he has much less beast kibble. Also, his design was once considered for a toy representing Twilight Sparkle as a Transformer. How could I not like that idea?
- Buzz Saw - a Predacon who got reformatted and turned Maximal. At least, that's what his tech specs imply.
- Hammerstrike - Again, a shark.
- Magmatron - Magmatron, a member of the Beast Machines Dinobots.
- Night Slash Cheetor - I like this fourth version of his BM toy.
- Quickstrike - the original character in a new body, or merely a namesake? You be the judge.
- Spy Streak - I'm not sure why I wanted this guy. Maybe just to be different.
- Thrust - Waspinator reborn!
- Transmetal Tigatron - once again, this is from the "combiner" aspect of my requirements. Even if he was actually created from splitting a fused Transformer back into his two parts.
- Jetfire - if you're going to have two parts of a combiner, why not the third?
- Optimus Prime - he's a combiner, what can I say? (Though I expect, given some of the hazards that have been reported, that I'll transform the trailer once into "legs mode" and then remove the batteries for good if I can.)
- Thundercracker - he's blue,, and the mold itself is a good design.
- Tidal Wave - Tidal Wave... Tidal Wave... Tidal Wave... Okay, so he's not the brightest boat on the block. But he's certainly one of the biggest. (And no, I do not have Megatron on my list of toys to get at this time.)
- Unicron - the Chaos-Bringer! In his first fully-released toy form!
- Constructicon Maximus - Constructicon Maximus, the combined form of the Decepticon Construction Team. Because you can never have too many Constructicons.
- Mega-Dinobot - Grimlock and Swoop! And they combine!
- Tidal Wave - yes, another version of Tidal Wave.
- Ultra Magnus - the repaint of Overload. In blue and white. Who also happens to be a combiner. (The character's trend to have blue colors in so many of his incarnations is the reason I have so many of him on my list.
- Unicron - a repaint of the first toy. He has an interesting color scheme.
- Cryo Scourge - Once again, blame the Insecticomics. This version is blue!
- Metroplex - he's mainly here because I wanted his Cyber Planet Key. The fact that he's blue doesn't hurt.
- Mudflap - another blue Decepticon. Saw him in the Insecticomics, found out his name and decided "What the heck".
- Override - as with Metroplex, I wanted her Cyber Planet Key. (The fact that she's one of the rare female Transformers doesn't hurt.)
- Override GTS - Wayward uses this toy to portray Nitro Convoy, who (within the continuity of the Insecticomics) is Override's twin brother.
- Primus - the GOD of all Transformers! And he's blue!
- Shortround - yep, another blue Decepticon. (Who also appears in the Insecticomics.)
- Snarl - come to think of it, I'm not sure WHY he's on the list. But he's staying there regardless.
- Thunderblast - a rare female Decepticon. (Who also appears in the Insecticomics.) Need I say more?
- Unicron - the tank version. In the Insecticomics, this toy is used to represent the Devourist.
- Ravage - yes, the one that turns from a car into a panther.
- Astrotrain - Why he never threatened to dump the other Decepticons into space on the way back to Cybertron and take control of their faction, I'll never understand.
- Grimlock - He's Grimlock, what other reason do I need?
- Rodimus - Can you say, articulation?
- Devastator - Classics Devastator, a repaint of Energon's "Constructicon Maximus" in the green and purple colors of the original Devastator. In the Insecticomics, this quintet is used to portray Scavenger and his harem, the only combiner team in their universe until they transferred to the Insecticomics setting and joined Starscream's new Brigade.
- Ultra Magnus - the only version of G1 Ultra Magnus I know (at the time of the original writing, at least) that doesn't have to be combined with a separate trailer to assume his full robot form; it's built into him.
- Cryotek - One can never have too many blue dragons.
- Supreme Optimus Primal - this toy was held over from the Beast Machines line. I already have Supreme Cheetor in my collection, so why not get the other toy from that set?
- Blackarachnia - she's to go with the Silverbolt figure listed under the Beast Wars section.
- Grimlock - Dinobots! Dinobots! Dinobots! (And this picture doesn't hurt his cause.)
- Snarl - Dinobots! Dinobots! Dinobots!
- Swoop - Dinobots! Dinobots! Dinobots!
- Ultra Magnus - one of the rare non-repaint/retools to bear that name. In fact, he's just about the ONLY non-repaint/retool to bear that name. (Yes, RID Ultra Magnus is part of the repaint/retool crowd. He was originally God Magnus from Car Robots.)
- Waspinator - Another Waspinator for my collection...
- Apex Prime - AKA Powermaster Optimus Prime, but with an addition: the Apex Bomber toy, formerly exclusive to Japan (where he was known as GodBomber).
- Hot Rod - the classic version, rereleased as Rodimus Major.
- 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime - I wanted the Ultra Magnus version because of his colors, but he didn't include a decent trailer that could combine with him... so I went for the next best thing. (Besides, I want that Matrix accessory.)
- Rodimus Prime - Arise, Rodimus Prime... as a reissue!
- Arcee - blue motorcycle! Blue FEMALE motorcycle!
- Blackout - the helicopter with a scorpion fetish. Comes with a tiny silver figurine of his partner Scorponok.
- Scorponok - this is the Deluxe edition of the toy. And if I can get my hands on the Decepticon Desert Attack set, I can get both him AND Blackout (including the one Scorponok figurine) in one set, and save money.
- Legends Class Scorponok - comes packaged with Bumblebee, though the latter toy isn't on my list.
- Robot Heroes Scorponok - comes packaged with Robot Heroes Optimus Prime, though the latter toy isn't on my list.
- Barricade - the Decepticon police car.
- Scorn - Saw a review of him; he's just plain awesome. And reminds me a lot of a certain other Spinosaurus from Kyoryuger.
- Optimus Prime - the 2014, Age of Extinction Leader-class figure. Saw a review, thought it was awesome.
- Han Solo...
- And Chewbacca - these two are actually packaged together, combining into the Millennium Falcon.
- Luke Skywalker - turns into an X-Wing.
- Darth Vader - He turns into the Death Star. (Not a TIE Fighter, though there was a toy like that too.)
Other series Transformers
[edit]- Botcon Dirge - a recolor of Classics Ramjet. (The Henkei! Henkei! version is also acceptable.)
- Botcon Thundercracker - a recolor of Classics Starscream. (The Henkei! Henkei! version is also acceptable.)
- Powerhug - In the Insecticomics, this character got amnesia and now believes himself to be Blinky, the universe's loviest pillbug. I happen to think he's cute, even if some people (cough*Dad*cough) see him only as a bug.
- Transformers Universe Classics Dirge - a Target exclusive, comes packaged with Roadbuster, though the latter toy isn't on my list.
- Laser Rod Ultra Magnus - an E-Hobby Japan exclusive.
- Ultra Mammoth - The Timelines series (and a Transformers Collectors' Club exclusive) redeco of Big Convoy, in blue, to represent a new form for Ultra Magnus from Beast Wars Shattered Glass.
- Power of the Primes Evolution Rodimus Prime - the sheer concept of this guy, a Hot Rod who can change into Rodimus Prime without buying a second figure, is just excellent.
- Iron Man - I discovered this courtesy of Baltmatrix on Youtube. He's right, it is an awesome figure.
Toys already in my collection
[edit]This is going to be a small section...
In order of acquisition:
- Rail Racer - all three components of Rail Racer, sold separately but bought at the same time.
- Sky-Byte - SHARK!
- RID Optimus Prime - the Autobot leader who combines with...
- RID Ultra Magnus - really, I was after combiners at the time.
- Beast Machines Supreme Cheetor - he, Prime and Magnus were bought at the same time. He was about the only BM toy left on the shelf at that location, so I scooped him up while I had the chance.
- Sideways and Axer - a Walmart Exclusive two-toys-in-one-box set.
- Constructicon Devastator - AKA the Universe line's repaint of Sixbuilder, exclusive to KB Toys. All six component toys were sold separately, but purchased at the same time.
And that's the extent of my current collection. Here's hoping it grows much larger, eventually.
