After the bombastic celebration Hasbro threw for the Transformers brand in 2014 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the franchise, the Thrilling 30, the Fandom waited with baited breath to see how Hasbro would handle the 20th anniversary of that most beloved and important of Transformers sub-lines, the Beast Wars. They did not disappoint! In 2016, 20 years after the Beast Wars revitalized the line and saved it from irrelevance, we were given a year-long celebration known as the Chilling 20.

In all seriousness, the 20th annviersary of Beast Wars was not entirely forgotten. BotCon 2016 was entirely themed around Beast Wars, giving us numerous new toys and fiction. TakaraTomy released exclusive versions of Rattle, Rhinox and Waspeeter at 'Transformers Fes2016, and scheduled a Masterpiece Optimus Primal for October. E-HOBBY announced Convobat in the summer of 2016. But, really, Hasbro, we were hoping for so much more.
