- It doesn't work, I'm afraid. Cars that run on fossil fuels still have electrical and electromagnetic components in their engines. At the very least, there are spark plugs, electrical ignition systems and alternators, and that's not even touching on all the computer-controlled stuff they have. (There's loads of it in modern cars; cars 50 years from now will surely have only more.) So yeah, plenty in them to be affected and deactivated by an EMP powerful enough to cause blackouts for blocks around.--Apcog 00:33, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
